hi every body
i have a hdd that booted in fedora and i want to get image from it and use its image on VMWARE or QEMU as a virtual .
How can i do it ?

If you are planning to image the hd from Linux, you can usee dd allright.

If you have VMware installed somewhere - add the disk - create a new VM - add the disk as physical disk.
This then creates a vmdk-file that represents the physical disk.

This vmdk file then can be converted to a regular vmdk with the tool vmware-vdiskmanager.

Easiest way to do this is to boot the Fedora system into a LiveCD with Workstation installed - then you can follow this guide
