Hello everyone!

I have a trouble with multiboot usb stick.

I've created multiboot usb with Xboot program, that contains both MS DaRT (64 and 86), both WinPE's 5.1 (64 and 86), Hiren's Boot CD and Kaspersky Rescue Disk 10.

Everything was great in virtual machine QEMU, but when I tried to load stick physically, on my new laptop, ГУАШ was not able to detect it. When I turned on Legacy support, stick loaded correctly, but there was problem with MS DaRT - in Legacy mode DaRT can't detect OS on PC and many functions not working.

So, it means, that i need to make this flash UEFI-bootable, but HOW?

Xboot uses syslinux loader. May be there is a way to change loader on syslinux 6.x which supports гуаш,

And there is one more question. This flash should be bootable in BIOS mode and in UEFI mode, because there are several machines with Windows 8 and several with Windows 7. And flash should boot on any of this machines.

Do you have any ideas, how to do this?

Xboot is simply not the "right solution" for your request.

The tool is not developed anymore since several years, the developer lost his life in an accident:

You can use syslinux alright (manually).

Or you may want to explore the currently mantained USB booting automated or partially automated tools, such as Rufus;

https://rufus.akeo.ie/

 and Easy2boot, this latter is the almost fully automated but uses as base grub4dos, not Syslinux.

I tried to use both of instruments, but as for me they are not very good - the Xboot menu is simple an looks great. And tool is very simple.

How do I use syslinux manually? Is it real to update boot loader to newer version?

Is it real to find any sttep-by-step instructions?

the issues are how the systems chain to other ISO's, not in the basics of the initial loaded boot loader process (Syslinux vs. grub4dos).  While you might like some of the simplicity of Xboot, the ease of management of something like easy3boot AND customization of it (which can make the menu simple and easy to use as well) AND that it is supported means that it (or rufus) is the way to go.  If you spend some time with it, you can make a nice, simple menu as well.

The other approach is to unpack the source ISO's and see what they need to have passed to them by the boot loader, and basically flatten out the entire process.  Not something that can be covered in an "easy to use" tutorial...
