I'm having a hell of a time trying to get Hiren's 15.1 script doing its job in Win7PE_SE_20120416. It stops every single time with a "Build stopped by script command" dialog box and a "Can't run from bootable WIM" in the log file. After trying to wrap my head all night around this problem I may have found a trail: I suspect the Hiren's script needs the "common API" script but I can't seem to "get CAPI operationnal". I see a little white square with the "co" letters telling me to click on it and retart Winbuilder to see the "CAPI wand" but alas, the little wand never comes. I tried a fresh instance of Win7PE_SE_20120416 somewhere else on my pc (root of c:\ as always). Still no little wand. Tried downloading the latest CAPI.. I am told I have the last version. Still no little w.... Well, you get the idea...

Also, I'm not sure if this is relevant, but the "common api" entry in the "build" section of WB "disapears" while building is running. May be nothing though. What the hell do I know...

Is this "no CAPI wand" thing normal in Win7PE_SE_20120416? I ask because I've *never* been able to integrate Hiren's 15.1 in Win7PE_SE_20120416 since I've switched from "plain vanilla" Winbuilder 082 a couple of days ago. I always get the same "Build stopped" error. I am going slightly mad....

Oh, also, I'm using the "extracted WIM" method so I'm pretty sure it's not a mount/unmount problem (as I first suspected).

Little wand... Where are you?

There you go. I removed almost every app/component not necessary(?) to make it smaller, but it gives me the same error any way you make it:

Thanks

Edit: And the "debug" version:

Oh man, that worked. Thank you very much for that.

Now I have another problem. :)

It seems I can't use the right locale (canadian-french) for the keyboard. I'm using a french source DVD and If I use "Auto" WB thinks I'm from France and sets up an "azerty" Keyboard. The closest I see in the choices list is the "UK english" locale and that's far from perfect. I'd like to use my "real" locale if I can. Is there any way to do this? I browsed through the forum and I think I may have caught something about using the "building machine" locale. I'm quite new to this so it got a bit over my head. Is that an option? I sure could use that.

Any insight into this would be greatly appreciated. Also, I can read, so a link explaining how to do it would be good. :)

Peace y'all

Because I'm currently in good mood, I'll try to help you further.

I do not know the win7pe project in detail, because I have some personal concerns about it's home and I never tried to understand. But I think that as the current WinBuilde.exe developer I can give some hints like that one in the above post.

To see your issue, can you again post a (debug) log, or do you think that I can use that one you already published above?

Peter

BTW: Did you ever try multiPE? It is fully supported by me.
Do not worry when the very first view looks very "spartanic". Application scripts of different projects, like win7pese, can be imported.

Oooooh. Never heard about MultiPE before. Nevermind that log file. I'm checking out your project right now. :)

Oh, and thanks for taking some of your time to reply.

Peace...

@neopath
First, really sorry for that,
There are several PE3 projects, you can also look to MultiPE leopard and MakePE3.
Tries the projects and chose the one that suits you best.

If you wish to continue with Win7PE_SE, I have updated "HostOS Import Manager" script
It allows to automatically retrieve information from your Host OS with the addition now of keyboard (this should answer your request) and International Format.
to put in Components folder :
Attached File  HostOS Import Manager.script   12.66KB   2 downloads

No hard feelings here. Actually, I tried MultiPE last night and it's not for me right now. It's very nice but it's not what I need. I will keep using Win7PE_SE. :)

And I haven't tried your new script yet, but yes, that is exactly what I am looking for. Thank you so much and keep up the good work.

Peace y'all.
