I have an IBM Lenova laptop A20m running Windows 98 (not SE) and nearly every time I boot up, it takes me to CMOS to reset the date and time. Any idea why date and time in CMOS won't stick?
Thanks,
Carolyn

Might be a faulty CMOS battery.

Have you tried replacing this battery with a new one?

If you're fixing a laptop it might be trickier because they are usually boxed and may require that you "produce" a new one:
