I've been a long time follower of Bootland/reboot.pro and was around in the early days of pxe booting winpe images via tftp when winvblock/firadisk were being written/debugged -- but now I find myself in the awkward position of requiring a method for booting the XP/2003 recovery console via http...

Given so many iterations of the RC, methods for booting, driver injections, hacks, developments and ridiculously cross-linked/cross-referenced forum threads both here and on countless other sites over the years, I've spent an insane amount of time reading, re-familiarizing and re-confusing myself with the subject enough for a months worth of migraines... What's worse, however, is that no amount of keyword combinations in my searches regarding http booting the recovery console via syslinux/pxelinux or ipxe result in anything remotely resembling anything helpful or not outdated or doesn't relate to (without wrecking my mind or sucking days worth of time following multiple threads crosslinked to multiple crosslinked threads) booting a RC using every possible method but via http -- we have a number of applications that don't work with NT6+ and until development on those applications are completed we're forced to maintain support for it...

I would think this should be fairly straightforward once I have an actual ramdisk image; Problem is, short of Sha0's fairly old post (http://reboot.pro/to...covery-console/) I've not found anything relatively recent regarding the subject, which is, correct me if I'm wrong, what I would think would be the only method to use for this specific use case...

Can anyone here suggest a more "up to date" method for creating a ramdisk 2k3/XP Recovery Console image, or would following Sha0's aforementioned (5 year old) post be the simplest/best method to use for this application?

I don't think that there are that many changes/betterings since.

Limited to the creation of a Recovery Console image with a Filedisk or Ramdisk, namely Sha0's Winvblock, this is the "latest" "revised" method (some little changes/adjustments from another "Sha0's originated" method) plus some info from several threads over the years "condensed":

From there to have it boot from PXE or through http is  another thing, but I guess that you can take *any* thread about booting a PE 1.x through the lan and use it as base.
