Difficult for 2aCD to make his beautiful script compatible with all PE2/3 project, ...

With my "Addon" I intended to exchange the order:
"All PE2/3 projects become compatible with the IE script"
They just have to show their identity card to the script.

And as usual around here, one or more kids take their toys and go home, because the other kids wouldn't jump to their command.

Just for future referece. If you want someone to do something for you, don't start the question by telling him, that he makes ugly children, followed by a kick to the groin!

Can you please explain for the rest of the world:
What's kiddy here:

Sorry, in the history you wrote "more compatibility to all PE3 projects"
And then you added

IniRead,%projectdir%script.project,IniVariables,WIMEditionID,%t%

In multiPE it makes an error stop, because "IniVariables,WIMEditionID" is known ONLY in win7pe_se.

Version 12 is unusable for multiPE.

Peter

Or do you mean this:

@pscEx
your posts are not helpfull and I'm not agree with your type of occurrence.

2aCD

Or do you mean: It is kiddy that I remove a script from my project, which is not working in my project and will not work in the future?

OK.
I removed IE from multiPE

Peter

Your first quote, falls under the rule: "If you want someone to do something for you, don't start the question by telling him, that he makes ugly children, followed by a kick to the groin!"

Your second and third quote, show two kids wanting to show, who's boss, by kicking the other ones behind.
This kind of behavior will never get any of the parties involved, what they want.

2aCD is obviously interested in you integrating his script into your project and you would like to have his IE script to work with your project.
The first thing you'll have to do is, show appreciation for the effort 2aCD is showing. Even or better especialy, if he fails to meet your expectations.

As a general rule: "In an interaction, the one person, who is doing little or less work, has to show appreciation for the other, being willing to do the majority of work."

So show first appreciation for his effort, before moving on, in a nice manner, to ask him to fix a few more things. Don't ever get angry or demand it. That only pisses people off and gets you nowhere.

When not asking for something, I usually try to tell facts here.
If the facts are misunderstoood by somebody, sorry, that is not my issue, but there problem.

Actually it is your problem, when other people misunderstand you, as it is your job, to make sure others get what you mean and not just what you say.
Just like it is your problem, when you write a program and the computer 'misunderstands' what you want it to do. ;)

@2aCD

I wanted to try your script in a new project.

Then I saw, that there are seven original M$ files attached to the script. :dubbio:

Is there no way to have the script "legal"? :whistling:

Hi pscEx,

there was a problem with Enterprise-Source EN version of Win7

it will not have the right mui files copied.

was the only way to copy the files from the script.

Maybe you can find a better way.

OOPS!

Even in my age I every day can learn something new.

Today I learned Parkinson's law #4 Bakers' law:

When it is not possible for a developer to solve an issue with legal methods, illegal methods become legal.

Maybe you can find a better way.

The better / suited way is to use the brain.

M$ offers "every" version of English Win7 to download.

Enterprise is deleted from the list.

The script should refuse Enterprise and offer some alternative download adresses.

The PE3 should be an emergency helper with most of the standard OS features.

It should not be a "free replacement" of the "licensed OS"

BTW: That is also the reason that I judge functionality like e.g. "Pin" very unnecessary.

I love your art to write.

Good to know that I not use my brain.

There is no reason to use  the rescue CD that was created from the purchased enterprise-version in a company.

Defective machine is also available in a company.

Guys, no need to steam as I believe that some words written here in non-native English were probably written a different meaning than the one that is now interpreted.

I'm quite sure that Windows Enterprise also comes with Internet Explorer available and running. The needed files are probably not located inside the WIM index that is used but at some other index inside the same WIM archive.

As principle, I do agree with recommending end-users to build their works with a tested and solid Windows source that we can suggest to them. This does makes life easier for everyone involved but there is really no need for a bug fuss, just things that the end-user should consider and react as necessary.

What is really not possible is to distribute Windows files within a script without their permission, we had troubles in the past and it is always a headache to solve (as you can see right now).

:)

I published now a new version of IE 8 script with removed MUI-FIles for fix Enterprise-Source-EN-SP0

SP1 form this sourcetype has correct mui-files. So 'I bring a message if Win7_ENT_EN_SP0 detect with note to use SP1.

I hope that everyone are happy. ;)
