No need to copy buggy things from other projects, install.wim index 1 is always the right one.perhaps it would be a great idea to implement the method of psc/Joshua to detect the correct container level ...
I just forgot to remove gui from script
Hmm, virtual box never worked for me with x64 guest ...starting the iso in my virtual box causes an error during boot: 0xc0000225
Thanks, this will be fixed in next releaseIf I deselect "addition fonts" I get an error ... are these addition fonts mandatory?
btw: addition files script works just fine. try checking the log for answer what has gone wrong

really? No need to copy buggy things from other projects, install.wim index 1 is always the right one.
I just forgot to remove gui from script
because with the settings from win7rescuepe and nativeEx and win7 prof 32bit as source win7pe builds fine (5/2), with (1/2) I have faults during boot on some machines ... only if I use win7 enterprise 32bit as source I have to set (1/2) (the default values)
works fine for meHmm, virtual box never worked for me with x64 guest ...
perhaps it is a version conflict ...btw: addition files script works just fine. try checking the log for answer what has gone wrong
the version here : http://www.boot-land...?...ost&p=93997
differs from version given here : http://www.boot-land...?...ost&p=97984
the version in the second link is 5 days newer (10.4. vs 15.4. , file date not modified by me) but the version in the first link works as I can see ...
what is the correct version? there are also other files that differ (date and size) ... but the same name of the archive ...
btw today I tested my build on some machines. I have tested on 6 machines with different configuration an in 50% of the test the build fails (boot error , Stop: c000021a {fatal System Error} )
configuration that fails (mainboard, cpu, ram, graphics):
- Abit IP35Pro, Q9550, 8GB Samsung, NV GTX260
- Gigabyte MA790FXT-UD5, Phenom II 955 BE, 4GB Corsair, ATI 5870
- Gigabyte P55A-UD4, i5 750, 8GB Samsung, ATI 5850
configuration that works:
- ASUS P5Q Pro, Q9550, 4GB Ram Mushkin, ATI 4890
- Gigabyte EX58 Extreme, i7 920, 8GB Samsung, NV GTX275
- Gigabyte x58A-UD7, i7 930, 8GB Corsair, ATI 5870
In case of a fail, win7rescuepe or nativeEx 32bit works fine

than use them.In case of a fail, win7rescuepe or nativeEx 32bit works fine
besides all other things, the tool you are referring is only for win7 sources and current project (with a bad name) is to support win7,w2008 and vista (x86-x64) sources.
( ps: @JFX: now you understand the importance of naming I guess. MultiSEPE )
and if you want, you can try to use the addon project you refer by adding on this project for only win7 sources. sbader in the past tried things and I guess (check sbaeder posts here) reported some sort of success in his trials..... Just spend some hours like all others do.

I use themthan use them.
My goal was to test the win7PE project with 64bit source ... with the use of nativeEx I only wanted to test if there was a generally problem with the hardware but the 32bit version does not fail. But ok, I will not test hardware any longer because the information is not useful for you.
if it is true that it does not matter which source I choose and the container (with all sources, even win7, vista and w2008) are the same, then ok. I only know about the problems many users had with the container in the other win7-projects ...besides all other things, the tool you are referring is only for win7 sources and current project (with a bad name) is to support win7,w2008 and vista (x86-x64) sources.
I did that to get scripts etc to work with this project and I just wanted to report my results ... but ok, I will no longer bother you with thatJust spend some hours like all others do.

FWIW, the MS-DaRT script doesn't work, and is somewhat clumsy to use. Here's a working one. (ERDRegedit doesn't work until after you have run Computer Management )

MS-Dart script does work, it is not easy, I have use it in every test build,, and i use the shortcuts from
shortcuts link

Did you actually run all the tools? Especially System Files Scan?MS-Dart script does work, it is not easy, I have use it in every test build,, and i use the shortcuts from

I dare say mine is easy to set up.

As I wrote before, again a piece of art from JonFI dare say mine is easy to set up.
Give me some more time to comment more, thanks a lot

All working fine for me except for usb drive recognition.
Or better:
If i run disk management i can see my usb drive with a letter assigned to it, so i can open the drive from there.
In explorer i can't see that drive (even if i make a refresh). If i kill explorer.exe and re-run from pe-shell, the drive magically appears in drives list.
Same problem if i remove the drive. Diskmgmt doesn't see it anymore, but explorer (even if i restart it) give me a ? on drive letter (inaccessible anyway).
Any suggestions?
P.s. : built with windows 7 ultimate x86. tried also homepremium and professional (by changing install.wim container #).
P.s.2: tested in virtual and real environment. Same issues.

DaRT is supposed to run on top of the recovery console. ERDLogon looks nice but obviously can't replace ReCo.
@patsch
Thanks for your reports. Does this only happen with the x64 Win7PE SE or also with x86 one.
Lancelot would you be so kind and stop attacking people who report problems

I will report this on monday, then I will have a fresh build of Win7PE SE 32bit at hand (and not only win7rescuepe 32bit)@patsch

Then remove it from the distribution.About Dart, nice script but still the wrong design.
It's not obvious to me.DaRT is supposed to run on top of the recovery console. ERDLogon looks nice but obviously can't replace ReCo.
OTOH, it's a major pain in the *** adding drivers one-by-one to a DaRT CD. If you want maximum hardware accessability, run DaRT on top of a WinBuilder project that has good driver support.
@All:
Lance found an error in the script; re-download and re-extract the DaRT files.

ok, here my results:I will report this on monday, then I will have a fresh build of Win7PE SE 32bit at hand (and not only win7rescuepe 32bit)
Win7PE SE 32Bit works on all of the 3 systems where the 64bit version fails. I have also build another 64bit version to exclude if there was a fault in the build ... but the 64bit version still fails. A 64bit installation on these 3 systems works well.
Configurations see here: http://www.boot-land...?...ost&p=98108

@patsch, PaPeuser, JonF and other testers:ok, here my results:

For me as 'only reading member' it is nearly impossible to get the information about 'what is working and what is not working'
Is it possible to create a new topic 'actual results' where everybody of you EDITs to the actual knowledge?

there is a general problem with explorer shell not recognize usb drives if put in after boot, try use another file manager like q-dir.
But I guess adding hotplug.dll + mui will be necessary for safe removal
@JonF
Erdlogon only set environment variable it doesn't initialize offline os like reco.
erdregedit is not able to load registry on it own, there may also several issue with other components when using erdlogon.
@patsch
Thanks you very much, that interesting there was and still is a similar issue with LiveXP x64.
Just to get sure have you used full copy mode or standard for x64.

Actually, ERDlogon sets an environment variable and a registry entry. It is not obvious whether or not any other settings are significant.@JonF
Erdlogon only set environment variable it doesn't initialize offline os like reco.
I have some ideas about erdregedit. I've used all the other components (in a VM) successfully.erdregedit is not able to load registry on it own, there may also several issue with other components when using erdlogon.
I maintain that driver addition is a good reason for running DaRT on a WinBuilder project. "Right" or "wrong" are not absolute, they depend on circumstances. The skill lies in determining what kind of circumstances you are in.

Win7 x64
Clean build no other scripts
New uExplorer
Standard file copy – no problems
Vista start bar
PENetwork
PnP - Ok
Full file copy
Win7 start loader – colors, flag, longer to load
PEnetwork – took a little longer to start network support but it does work
Pnp - Ok
I see you have been busy
PnP has been changed
Back to basics? I am ok with that
Now I will add Opera and check network, then maybe a few scripts.
Thanks JFX

ok.so... adding some/all of the following files will make usb working...( just tested)
Require_File,imageres.dll
Require_File,zipfldr.dll
Require_File,dtsh.dll
Require_File,fire*.dll
Require_File,ip*.*
Require_File,*api.dll
Require_File,faultrep.dll
Require_File,*pnp*.*
Require_File,pnp*.*
Require_File,dfshim.dll
Require_File,*sh*.*
Require_File,syncui.dll
Require_File,*view.dll
Require_File,mscms.dll
Require_File,dao*.*
Require_File,msi.dll
Require_File,*cpl.*
Require_File,bde*.*
Require_File,com*.*
Require_File,ink*.*
Require_File,newdev.exe
Require_File,*svr.*
Require_File,*host*.exe
Require_File,depends.*
Require_File,hh*.*
Require_File,ntd*.*
Require_File,ntl*.*
Require_File,net*.*
Require_File,brow*.*
Require_File,wks*.*
need some additional research to find the exact files that let usb recognition work. Also i've added hotplug.dll + mui and hotswap works aswell.

Using a Win7 Pro x64 7600.16385 host and building a Win7PE_SE x64, and booting to USB
All tests in both VMware and on a live machine.
I can add LiveXP Apps, and I use M$Dart 6.5 with files included from Yahoo or JFX version with a standard file copy.
I in all builds so far first thing I do is add Dart 6.5 and Opera
Thanks Yahoouk, JFX and Lancelot it has been fun
I have no problems, and I have no other comments
