I am having the devils own job finding a simple script. I just want a Win 7 PE with everything standard in it. There are so many variations around and having to run and copy to CD first just to see if they have what I want is very time consuming.

I need all the usual things like notepad, ability to copy files, Disk management etc. Don't mind if it is DVD size.

I don't want something that has been stripped to hell and with 4,000,000 program additions that I have never heard of. Just plain Win 7 PE.

Can anybody point me in the right direction ?

Just make a list of which apps you want to be included in your win7pe and perhaps

“somebody” will try to make a “special” customized a package for you…

Try EzPe3 or multiPE

Or just make a "QuickPE":

But really. "all the usual things" makes really no sense whatsoever, "my" "usual things" may differ greatly from someone else's, or from "yours".
Of course you need NOT to "copy to CD", that is exactly (not really, but almost) the reason why VM's are used.

All the scripts appear to be "lets start with nothing and buid up to what you want". I want a "lets start with everything and I'll pull out what I don't need later". ie a "full" Windows 7 package on a DVD. I must admit to being surprised that this doesn't appear to exist yet - or at least I haven't found it. I am not the fastest with playing around with this stuff and haven't time at the moment to invest the days involved with getting up to speed yet. I managed to use BARTsPE to generate the same with XP but Winbuilder seems to have a much higher overhead.

It may take longer to boot and it will load lots of stuff I don't need BUT it will have the few things I do need "NOW". I am quite happy to play around and remove unecesary things later. And add some things as well.

Then you were not very clear in your initial post, at least myself understood the opposite of what you posted now  (or maybe I am getting it wrong this time ).

The most "complete" project that I know of is Win7PE, that contains a number of apps.

You have to understand how a PE is anyway a "limited" environment and not everything that normally works in a "full" Windows 7 work in the PE (or a way to have it working has not yet been found) and most projects use working replacement tools for something that is "missing" or "doesn't work".

What about forgetting about the PE and going for a "full" Windows 7?
