When you boot an unattended Windows DVD(which contains autounattend.xml), you are directly taken to the installation routine.There is no option to launch the recovery environment.However I found a way of accessing Windows Recovery Environment from the unattended DVD.

But, with all due respect and just for the record, the Shift+F10 trick has been used since the dawn of the NT OS, at least since 2K:

but I seem to remember that it could be used even before.
From time to time it comes back as a "secret found", example:
