Hi

Thanks for the wonderful software, it helped me format and install a few computers last month.

Now my question please is what about Windows XP 64 bit? The following steps didn't work for the 64 bit.

8.how to pxe boot xp installation thru RIS

Enter startrom.0 as boot filename

Put winnt.sif as unattended installation file in root folder  (see example in zip file)

Put ntldr (renamed setupldr.exe), ntdetect.com in root folder

Tick BINL

Share the root folder (windows/samba share, nullsessions enabled) containing a subfolder XP (containing installation cd files)

Extract all inf files from lan driverpacks to INF folder in root folder

Extract all sys files from lan driverpacks to XP\I386 folder in root folder

Thanks

Hi,

Thanks for the positive feedback.

Can you tell us more on what does not work with TPS/RIS/XP64?

Have you picked up the boot file (startrom, ntdlr, setupldr, ntdetect) from the XP64 iso/cd?

Where does it fail?

Regards,

Erwan

My mistake in my winnt.sif in the 3rd line

1. [SetupData]
2.  OsLoadOptions = "/fastdetect"
3.  SetupSourceDevice = "\workgroup\192.168.1.10\files\winxp"

Now it's working for my XP 64 bit

Thank you for your valuable time

Sorry again, after rebooting it starts showing the same error message. So I went back using :

[SetupData]
    OsLoadOptions = "/fastdetect"
    SetupSourceDevice = "\Device\LanmanRedirector\192.168.1.10\files\winxp"

but with no success, so my XP 64 worked just once with such temporary fix

 " INF file txtsetup.sif is corrupt or missing, status 21. Error "

is still showing
