Hello,

I hope I am in the correct location for this. I am very sorry if I am not.

I am trying to build a version of LiveXP to try and fix a friend's laptop. It's riddled with viruses and the like, and would like to use a boot CD to do this. Since UBCD4Win is out of date by a lot, I came to WinBuilder.

I've gotten it to build with all of the default tools, etc. It works that way. But I need an antivirus program so I downloaded the VIPRERescue script and the Spybot script. I haven't tested the Spybot one yet - that build is actually currently going now to test - but currently, I get an error when it gets to the VIPRERescue script.

It looks like it goes through everything, but then I get this: "(VIPRERescue.script) FileDelete - Failed to delete [%BaseDir%\Workbench\Common\VIPRERescue\update.ini]: The operation completed successfully" along with "(VIPRERescue.script) Halt".

I'm unsure of how to fix this. Would anyone have any information?

Thanks for your help.

Edit: Spybot by itself worked. VIPRERescue unfortunately did not.

Please tell us the download URLs of LiveXP project and VIPRERescue.script.

I'll have a look into the script source.

If I were you (if the scope is quickly fixing your friend's PC) I would try this:

http://reboot.pro/to...ivirus-project/

If it is about using/learning/tweaking Winbuilder generated builds and .scripts, then go on :)

The URL for VIPRERescue was http://reboot.pro/fi...11-viprerescue/

For the LiveXP, it was the one downloaded from WinBuilder. LiveXP v.153 from what it looks like.

That looks awesome. Though, unfortunately when I go to download the project, it fails and doesn't go to the download page. I am going to continue trying, but so far it looks like creating my own will be the best option for me.

please have also a look at:

Please use this or this ISO as source (Windows7 x86 sp0) & and a proper download manager when downloading.

This script cannot run in LiveXP.

Peter

BTW: are you still interested that I download and look into the code?

I have no problem if it Doesn't run in LiveXP, but it won't work anyways.

If you don't mind, can you? That would be awesome.

Thanks!

Al_jo's site is a bit hectic.

You will need a download manager capable of resuming downloads, but normally it works.

The only thing you cannot do  is to hint that his site sucks big and that the illogical choice of using an unreliable hosting could be mitigated by allowing other people to mirror it/host it.:

@pscEx

Sure :), that's why there is a link on the page to the Windows 7 DVD.

As to be seen, no more reason / necessarity for me to test the combination which was reported as failing in the first post.

al_jo will fix your issue.

The project was created! I will need to test it when I get home as I'm at work currently, but so far it looks good.

Thank you very much, al_jo!
