Desktop Earth is a wallpaper generator for Windows. It runs whenever you're logged on and updates your wallpaper with an accurate representation of the Earth as it would be seen from space at that precise moment.

Why bother with Google Desktop Earth? I make my own desktop earth with leftover food and drink on either side of my keyboard. I've got my own living ecosystem without slowing down Windows :P

This isn't the google desktop.. But I do think that your living ecosystem could likely be used by NASA research teams to test life conditions under those extreme conditions.. :P
