I am having problems loading Disk director 10. I have modified a french script i found on the forum. This is attached. I get the error attached in the screen shot. Has anybody got any suggestions?

I have been thinking about using a registry compare program to find what reg entries are added.

Thanks

I have some slight difficulty following the complete logic of the script you are using for DD10, but it appears to assume (incorrectly) that everything will always be located on %SystemDrive% in the final build. With VistaPE, that's only true if your DD10 program files are forced there and, if they are, they will be located in the Program Files folder and not in the Programs folder where that script tells the registry to look for them. In other words, that script's claim of %VistaPECompatible%=Yes is dubious at best. Try this one:

Just replace the script file and leave the contents of its %ScriptDir%\dd10 subfolder in place. Please note that the "password" and "key" entries really shouldn't be made available in a public forum. But, since you uploaded them in your script, I copied them into the revision. Post a follow-up here if you have any problems with it.

I will be posting my own Disk Director script, as well as a few other scripts, I have just created in a few days. Stay tuned.

I have tried your script and got the same error.

I am going to change the key and try rebuilding again. Any other suggestions?

Hmmmm. Puzzling. I've never seen that particular error before -- certainly not with the DD10 script that I use myself and uploaded for you. In fact, a 'procedure entry point' problem would seem more likely to be some kind of internal DiskDirector process fault than anything to do with the VistaPE script itself. Are you sure that the snapapi.dll file isn't corrupt?

I would like to have a modified version of the script that doesn't force me to install the app, but once installed It creates a files.7z to include in the script. I don't know how to do this.. :-(

Ok, tonight when I get home from work I will download the latest eval, register and install on my XP machine, copy the required files to my vista laptop and rebuild. Is it worth using regshot to compare the registry entries before and after install. See this post for regshot http://www.boot-land.net/forums/index.php?...y+compare\

Thanks

I know of no way to get the DiskDirector application files you need except by installing it from the downloadable package available on the Acronis web site. Once you have those files (including snapapi.dll and snapman.sys that get installed into the system32 and system32\drivers folders respectively) adding them to your script as an encoded attachment is fairly simple:

1) Use 7zip to create a compressed package containing all the application files (we'll call it myfiles.7z, but use any name you like).
2) Use WinBuilder to select the script that you want to work on and click its edit icon (the little wrench to the left of the title).
3) Select the Attachments tab (the one with the paperclip) and click its Add button.
4) Click Add in the dialog box that opens, browse to myfiles.7z that you created in step 1 and select it.
5) Click the Start button and enter a name for the item to be encoded as a script attachment.

That's it. Of course, you also need to include the apppropriate commands in the script [Process] for extracting the encoded attachment file(s) to the desired location(s).
