First off Id like to say thanks for a pretty cool project. Ive used bartsPE for a long time now, but its getting a little old and outdated.

I currently have a bartPE based diskless media center and would like to move this to a vistaPE platform. How easy would it be to intergrate FFDShow and the matroska splitters (video/auto codecs) into vistaPE. Could someone please point me in the right direction on how to go about doing this.

Cheers

You know that VistaPE has no sound, do you?

It is possible to create a multiboot setup to start either VistaPE or BartPE from the same DVD or USB, but integrating all of their capabilites to get the best of both worlds in a single boot-up is a bit of a challenge. I'm sure VistaPE will be adding more capabilities and options as its developers and other contributors gain more intimate knowledge of the Vista operating system and its new quirks. In the meantime, if sound is a major consideration, you're probably best advised to stay with BartPE.

Based on my own transitional experience, you might want to take a look at the "BartPECore" project here on this site as a step in moving from 'vanilla' BartPE into the WinBuilder environment. Both WinBuilder projects can co-exist and share resources (tools, etc.) quite comfortably under the same folder.
