I swear I read that GRUB2 did not support NTFS but checking the WIKI, it shows that NTFS is supported.

Hi, i've been scouring the internet for resources for I have been trying to achieve the same goal, which is to boot windows 7 from my expresscard.

I've gotten as far as booting to grub4dos and checking to see what shows up. as far as i understand, it was not detected because there was only one entry (hd01,1). Any advice on what can be tried next, i'm ready and willing.

Booting grub4dos FROM where?
(hd01,1) is NOT a valid grub4dos device name.

You have hard disks like devices:
(hd0)
(hd1)
...
And partitions in them:
(hd0,0)
(hd0,1)
...
(hd1,0)
(hd1,1)
....
More generally (hdm,n) where if n is between 0 and 3 indicates primary partitions and if above indicates logical volumes.

Please report again, typically get to command line and type
geometry (
and press the [TAB] key.
Which devices are listed?

Also which EXACT version of grub4dos are you testing?
Try using LATEST EXPERIMENTAL by chenall.

i might be double-posting, so i'll take this down if i am

Stupid me, I uninstalled (deleted it w/ easybcd cuz i'm an idiot) the grub4dos that I had (0.4.4) and am having trouble installing the newer version. in the directions provided earlier in this thread, I'm having trouble completing the last step:

copy grldr and menu.lst to a supported partition type

earlier in the instructions i copied grldr.mbr from the winrar file I downloaded, and I'm not sure where I"m supposed to copy it from later, thus when i reboot my computer and select grub4dos as boot option, it gives me an error

Luckily enough, i ran "geometry(" before the uninstall and grub4dos only saw my internal platter HD with the three partitions it currently has
