OK, and what to do when older version was used, and the existing 500Gb disk insist that it is 250Gb and cannot be extended?

HI Sebus,

Have you tried to extend it just by a few GB's to see if it works?

If yes, then may be you need to slitghly review your target (500GB) with a smaller size?

Can you post a screenshot of the clonedisk\partitition editor against that physical drive?

Also, post a screeshot of clonedisk\right click "show disk/part info" against that volume.

Thx,

Erwan

Little successful experiment :

I created 2 virtual hard drives (256MB and 512MB), created a partition/volume (G:) on my 256MB drive and cloned my 256MB drive onto my 512MB drive.

Picture below before/after.

We can see that after cloning, not only is the partition length too small but so is the (volume) boot sector total sectors.

Using the extend CloneDisk feature will take care of both (the partition and the volume).

When cloning disk 2 to disk 1, it was going fine, if very slow.

But it has now hung at this point (screenshot).

Any suggestions?

Ok i cant load a screenshot as forum seems to ban every for of image I come up with...

It is about 97%ish complete (refering to the blue bars at the bottom) and the caption at the bottom says

"21:43:01:491 - read boot sector OK"

it previously said this with a different timestamp ( about 21:39:XX:XXX)

But has had the above timestamp for about 45 minutes and appears to have stalled.
