Hi,

as I know from my very own experience: biggest problem for an unexperienced user like me is the fact to get clobbered over the head with an great number of unknown vars and no idea in use of common or project-based vars as well as the matching denomination in other projects :)
(although the vars are well-documented inside each project).
Therefore I've written a PDF-file that contains (or should contain) the most important vars (common and project-based) and will upload it.

What do you think?
Could such a general survey be helpful for other unexperienced users?

Regards
Walter

Hi, this is interesting without doubt, would you please upload to another temporary file host since the link is not allowing to get the document?

http://www.woofiles.com/

Or if you wish, we can also create an account inside winbuilder.net to host your work, just let me know.

:)

Hi Nuno,
here's the link to woofiles.com
Survey_wb_vars.pdf

Hope it will work now, but for me the download from rapidshare was possible without any problem.

And yes, please create me an account inside winbuilder.net.

BTW: Upload to forum is still not possible?

Regards,
Walter

I'm still not able to read the PDF, it's sized in 0Kb for some strange reason.

--------

It's not recommended to use forum attachments, they might break with time and make the overall database performance get sluggier as the years pass.

Some time ago the database had grown to over a gigabyte in size, after some cleaning it dropped to ~125Mb.

For storing files, we can use winbuilder.net spaces.

btw: You have mail with the settings to your FTP account.

Then you should check your local system!

Hmm.. I can't download from either sites for some strange reason.

I'm using firefox under Ubuntu without any script restrictions, will wait for the direct link version to read the document.

Hm..

I'm using Firefox under Vista, but can't get access to winbuilder.net. Using the details in mail you sent I get always "Incorrect login". (Caps-Lock is off).
What am I doing wrong? :)

The details are correct but you'll need to use an FTP client to upload files.

I'd recommend either filezilla (freeware) or SmartFTP (shareware).

From vista explorer, you can also type "ftp://winbuilder.net" and after entering the user details you can drag and drop files just like any regular folder.

Nevertheless, when uploading many files, a dedicated FTP client is better.

-------

From firefox you can only browse the files from your FTP space, look here: ftp://winbuilder.net/
