Building a boot USB, DVD or CD based on Windows 7 with WinBuilder and Win7PE SE Tutorial , writes by irongeek.

Here in pdf http://w7pese.cwcodes.net/Compressed/Building a boot USB, DVD or CD based on Windows 7 with Winbuilder and Win7PE SE Tutorial.pdf

You need to know that Al_Jo's projects are copies, fork of original Win7PE_SE and Win8PE_SE projects :whistling: .
This was done without asking, without reference, without credit, nothing, as it is usually done.
It is hidden by changing number of things. It is a shame for the free development.
Thank you not to support and to combat :censored: .

If you have questions or want to support, please open a topic at Win7PE here

Win7PE SE - PreRequests Notice (*)
Win7PE SE project is based on PE environment and will use a Windows7 SP0 or SP1, Architecture x86 and x64 DVD.
It is better (recommended) to have the DVD copied in a folder on your hard drive.

Win7PE SE comes as a base with only a minimal of applications. Take pleasure to personalize it and to add your script and applications.

Additional Packages:
http://w7pese.cwcodes.net/Compressed/Realtek.7z (Extract to ...\Projects\Win7PESE\Drivers\ folder)

You can use the drivers from Driverpacks.net (check Win7PESE->Drivers->Driver Integration)

History:
Yahoouk first project Win7PE continued with improvments to Multi7PE. Sadly Yahoouk had to leave (lack of free time)...
JFX continue Yahoouk's work with greaaaat enhancements and made 'Multi7PE SE' project, Sadly JFX had to leave...

A big thanks to the precursors Yahoouk's and JFX's great work :D to build this simple and healthy base who given many ideas and inspiration to others.

ChrisR continue JFX's 'Multi7PE SE' project, to 'Win7PE SE'

And Many people support these Heros on their developments.

Thank you very much to all who help to make live this project and to make it better.

Important:
This topic is purely reserved for updates and notice of Win7PESE project developments.
Always Check Win7PE SE development topic post 1 to get latest updates and informations.

For project support and questions, please make sure you use the Win7PE Section of the forum.
You are invited to open a new topic there (prefixed with 'Win7PESE' on topic title if it relates to the project itself) or in an existing topic if it relates to your subject.

Be Happy.

Classic shell features

Hi,

I also start last few weeks studing and changing the last Win7PE_SE release found on the forum, i'm not a expert but i will try to add new features and fixs to this project.

My first humble contribution a updated version of the local.script to include support for Portuguese language and Regional Settings :D

File: localev13 replaced by v14

How to use this file
-----------------------
- replace the old locale.script on win7pe_SE\Build\
- edit the Interface on the Main configuration script changing the definition of pScrollBox5
pScrollBox5=Auto,1,4,102,143,150,18,Auto,Russian,French,German,Greek,Turkish,"UK English",Italian,Portuguese,Spanish
- edit the script Build\2 - Shell & Config, search the locale lines and add at the end but before [interface] this line:
If,"%Locale%",Equal,"Portuguese",Run,%LocaleScript%,Portuguese

I have merged your changes to the script 1-files.script and added this 2 changes:

History17 rpaz - ajust copy of KBD*.DLL files to include only needed languages
History17 rpaz - added needed file to allow tray icon control (Hide/show/notifications)

File: 1-files v17a

History17 rpaz - ajust copy of KBD*.DLL files to include only needed languages

I'm not agree with your KBD* change, if we select (system locale = auto), we must have all the keyboards to support the maximum language. I propose you

if,%Locale%,equal,"Auto",FileCopy,"%b32%\KBD*.DLL","%t32%\",norec

else,FileCopy,"%b32%\KBDUS.DLL","%t32%\"

Can you change languages and regional settings at runtime?
From memory i remember that the applet on Control Panel doesn't work making difficult or impossible to change this so i guess no extra files needed besides the language selected or the one that matches the language on the source disk.

the applet on Control Panel for keyboards work for me. If i build with (system locale = auto), i have all the language keybords and so I can change my French keyboard (default language of my windows 7 source) to English keyboard or other.

Hi Chris,

You are right, i tested to many projects i guess because i remember trying to change the keyboard language and the applet didn't work for me. Did the test right now and it works.

Changed the link for the new file above.

Hello.. :)
I Build using a Win7 x64 host with a Win7 x64 source
Using your project Win7PE_SE_2010_09_06 – and-- Classic Shell v2

I like the Classic shell ... :)
Should your classic shell display recently used programs?

Auto launching PENetwork during boot worked
But BGInfo did not refresh or display --IP Address:

No one else has reported this problem so maybe it is just me………………
I can not find the reason for this error. It is not consistent; once every 3 build or so I get this error message during both x86 and x64 builds and build halts.
So in tools I have been unchecking halt on errors..
(1-explorer.script) FileCopy - Failed to copy [%BaseDir%\Temp\Win7PE_SE\InstallWimSrc\Windows\System32\ntdll.dll] to: [%BaseDir%\Target\Win7PE_SE\Windows\System32\ntdll.dll]: The requested operation cannot be performed on a file with a user-mapped section open.

Also if you check out services – and start (Server) manually shared folder shows that all drives are shared.

This is a quick review :)

Thank You for work .. :D :D :D

Thanks for your feedback.

I like the Classic shell ... :D
Should your classic shell display recently used programs?

Rui Paz write a new script for Classic shell, i ask him.
To show recent programs you can add this key : RegWrite,HKLM,0x4,WB_USER\Software\IvoSoft\ClassicStartMenu,"ShowRecent",1

But BGInfo did not refresh or display --IP Address:

I had the same problem. I just tested the script written by Homes32 (fix IP Adress), it works well with the refresh option. I changed Autorun to RunOnce and add a loop waiting (1 mn max) for the end of Penetwork process, Now the IP address in BGInfo works well at first loading. Can you test it ?
New BGinfo

Does anyone can help with other problems ?

I tested your new BGInfo script and it does refresh but it never showed IP address
And when I changed workgroup name,, it over wrote Workgroup with my changes and both where displayed one over the other..

Can I suggest you look at the (CoolMon 1 script) that comes with BB7
I tested CoolMon 1 with your build it displays same info and works well.... :D :D :D

With updated shell now displaying recently used programs works. Thanks :D

CoolMon 1 is not centered on desktop … display settings have changed??
It looks to me that CoolMon or Recently used programs have changes display settings.. ?? :D
So maybe CoolMon is not an easy replacement for BGInfo

I want to thank you again for all your work and for keeping Win7PE_SE alive :D

But something changed with display setting in last Classic Shell Update :D
I have Reboot and Shutdown on desktop and in ShutdownPE script desktop shortcuts is unchecked…

In my last Classic Shell Update, there is a checkbox to copy shutdown and reboot on the desktop. For the case of exit classic shell.

For Bginfo, i update the script above: works well in x86 , works in x64 without IP Address, i don't know why ?

Tried with Turkish source. Boot error saying something about NLS files. I have opened localisation.script. found the turkish section. the was a line containing language id of 409. changed to 41f. Boot successful.

Thanks :D , i change the locale script with 41f in the next update , Max (Turkish) use this value in his project leopard.

Also i have forgetten to tell before. Directx11 also doesnt work when building. It tries to copy qasf.dll.mui from system32\tr-tr, but that file is in system32\en-us folder in a turkish dvd source.

A little surprised by your DVD :hyper: . Is this an original turkish Windows 7 or an English Windows 7 with integrated language pack.
DirectX is just an addon written by YahooUK and it works only in x86 build, it is not indispensable to Win7pe. Others are the same problem ?

service note: rest of post verrry accidentally deleted by Lancelot, ChrisR informed (Chrisr : You restored it, no problem, thanks for the information).

I really dont know. It is only in turkish, no multi language. But it may be turkish integrated english source. Is it possible to remove the default language from a dvd? (in this case english language)

I don' know about remove the default language from a dvd. If your Win7PE works by disabling the DirectX script, it's Ok, otherwise adjust the script.

Hello
I do not know if this will help

Main Configuration system locals can be changed
Also in
Copy Files there is an option for (Other Language Files)

....added......

For DirectX 11 I added
RegB32,dciman32.dll
To the Copy files script
When I go to
X:\Windows\system32 and launch Direct X Diagnostic tool

I now get an Error: Problem getting extra display info.

Video drivers need to be digitally signed?

Tool does not display Device information
But under display tab DirectX Features does say
DirectDraw Acceleration: Enabled
Direct3D Acceleration: Not Available
AGP Texture Acceleration: Enabled

I installed an add-on script from BB7, SIW or System Information for Windows script
In System Information for Windows under installed applications it lists both
DirectX 11
and
M$.NET
But in Computer Management under Services they are not listed?????

OO and BGInfo does not like Custom Wallpaper

edited a few times

Hi ChrisR,
I guess when tr mui not exists, en mui used when building with none-enu source. (as far as I read from other scripts :) )

Following exact Yahoouk script without any addition (some quotes removed and multilanguage source cd support added), I feel this one will help

CengizHan, happy testing :hyper:

I'm not agree with your KBD* change, if we select (system locale = auto), we must have all the keyboards to support the maximum language. I propose you

And I propose you :>:> hehe, no no no propose, here is midway:

I feel adding "Add All Keyboard" checkbox will fit better for (FileCopy,"%b32%\KBD*.DLL","%t32%\",norec) so one can easly change keyboard setting after boot If this is what s(h)e wants. :)

Following Leopard design:
Current "Auto" inside Win7PE_SE Release should be renamed to "Default" :w00t:

"Auto" mean (at least makes sense to me that way) to read info for hostos local settings, and use this info to add files to project building ... Since current locale.script do not have Auto , it should drop from scrollbox (or replace to Default which is same).

My 2 cents, :)

hi,

QUOTE (Lancelot @ Sep 13 2010, 03:22 AM)
DirectX 11 ...

Thanks for your test and feedback. :hyper:
Lancelot, I'll watch the DirectX script proposed when I would have some more time. I have the same result as Papeuser.

I don't know if DirectX 11 should be included in Win7Pe_Se or so with writing DirectX11 beta in the title. DirectX11 requires certainly a little more time in testing and development to be fully operational.

BGInfo does not like Custom Wallpaper

For Bginfo, the update script (post 12) works well for me (even with a custom wallpaper) without IP Address in x64 buid.
BGInfo should be placed after the script wallpaper and BGInfo Cache must be empty (GlobalTemplates) .

I feel adding "Add All Keyboard" checkbox will fit better for (FileCopy,"%b32%\KBD*.DLL","%t32%\",norec) so one can easly change keyboard setting after boot If this is what s(h)e wants.

Current "Auto" inside Win7PE_SE Release should be renamed to "Default"

for "Auto" renamed to "Default", Yes, agree, Done.

For checkbox "Add All Keyboard" perhaps, but a supplementary checkbox and Kbd * takes only 1.15 MB and allowing all keyboards for "Auto" "Default" locale setting without question. Edit : But perhaps, need also to add all the keyboards for build other than "Default" locale. Good Idea : Each can choose so. Done.

Thanks for supporting my contribution to Win7pe ;) , with my little English it's a little difficult for me to answer but google is my friend.
