Did you try CLEAN first?

If so need precise error message and details of USB disk (e.g. size, make. model).

I forgot to mention that, but yes..i try clean without success.

its a toshiba canvio 1Tb usb 3.0.

this is the error (error 6) i cant find a .log from rmprepusb

th_rm1_zpsr9f0taih.jpg

and this its the message

if i start disk management in the background popup that disk management console view is not up to date.

th_e2b2_zpslnollxhn.jpg

after this appears a partition in RAW with my desire space but e2b its not on that pt.

i need to click twice to prepare drive ?

because in raw format i click prepare drive again and start to extract files in a new partition.

i dont see that step in the guides, if this is correct forgot this thread :loleverybody:

Regards!

edit: the second click in prepare drive works after manually format the raw partition.

i found that to minimize the problems with disk management reinstall the usb drivers (in this pc its a etron 3.0). i check this out and still appears no found letter drive "n"

format the pc to rule out any change in the system that I involuntarily did, error 6 in ntfs...

i think that i need to still in fat32

It maybe you have disabled auto-mounting of volumes?

In RMPrepUSB - type Ctrl-L

control+L >OK   but doesnt work.

restart, manually create a new pt with "z" letter.

try again doesnt work.

Strange.

No one else has reported this.

Something must be different about your setup.

Does it work if you use a different USB drive?

Is something 'special' about the USB drive or your Windows OS?

P.S. To create a E2B USB drive, you should use the \MAKE_E2B_USB_DRIVE.cmd shortcut (but in your case you will probably get the same error because RMPrepUSB just calls RMPartUSB which is the same program used by the batch file anyway.

i use the guide multiple partitions...

i have two portable disks, a toshiba canvio and hitachi with case and both get the same error.

thinking about OS, but its just windows 7 x64 build 17514 clean... nothing of nlite and that stuff.

if i manually change letters to my internal drives maybe caused this ? :dubbio:

Regards

Maybe your AntiVirus solution is causing a problem?

Very odd!

RMPartUSB actually uses the Windows Format API but it needs to be passed a drive letter (e.g 'told to format drive L:).

So, RMPartUSB wipes the drive, creates the partitions and then asks Windows what drive letter the new partition is. Then it calls the Windows Format_NTFS API with the drive letter. It looks like Windows is not assigning a drive letter to the raw partition.

Instead of using RMPrepUSB\RMPartUSB to format the drive, you can just use the Windows Format utility - it does the same thing!

exactly! no letter to raw.

i check the registry an automount is enabled.

well, i used Windows format to create ntfs and rmprepusb to extract e2b files and install grub4dos.

works perfect.

Cheers!

let me invite you a couple of beers (after sync my btcwallet :fish: ), it will not be a lot but that's due to a strict exchange control in Venezuela.
