hi dear athrelia

to create a password protected media you have several choices:

1. using an encrypting softwares.

2. using programes that does this for you

3. if you are working by boot programs like grub or bcdw and.... they have options for password protecting .

so 1st decide which one is your favorite

Hello Shirin Zaban

Thanks for your nice tutorial.

Is there a similar method to create a bootable DVD to restore my .GHO image instead of CD.

I asked you the same question in your other tutorial.

Thanks in advance for any help and hints.

Hi Dear Muhammad

this error is mostly seen when :

1. our ghost image is currupted .

2. when the size of partition that we want to restore on it , is less than the partition that we have got ghost image of it.

so it is better to do as below:

1. get ghost image , and restore image by the same version of ghost.

2. after getting ghost image ,test that by ghost 32 to be sure it is ok.

3. be sure that the partition that we want to restore image on it , has size equal or larger size than the imaged partition.

hope your success

"Thanks for reply Shirin Zaban"

I have tried this ghost image in manual mode (manual installation with same ghost version) it works perfect and no error display.

When, i try to with your automatically installation method as you mentioned in your post this error occurred.

I have 1.2 GB ghost image (My_GhostXP.iso)  and restoring to 10 GB Virtual Hard disk in Virtual Machine 7 in my Dell GX520 (Sata HD 250GB, 1.5GB Ram & 3.2Ghz P4.

in my other search, i found a command line "ghost -afile=c:\errorfile.txt "  about this error but i m not understand it.

if this command line will work , you guide me where i put these lines ????

OR

Please reply me any more suggestion about this. (a:/ghosterr.txt) error code:546

Waiting for your Reply !!!!

How large is the image file, or are there multiple image files? Have you tried using Symantec Ghost Explorer to examine the image and to check its integrity? Maybe your image file has been damaged.
