is there any application that can eject CDROM from freedos?
i don't load cdrom drivers from dos (cd1.sys), i just only run a bootable cd that emulates drive A:
After doing all the job, i need to eject the cdrom
is there anything that i can use for that, something that communicate with bios irq to find the cdrom
thanks

If you explain to me what drove you to post a new thread in:
Boot Land > Groups > Project forge >
to ask a question about FreeDos , I will give you a possible solution.

i'm searching a free application to make this, and i choose the project forge section to put this.
i didn't find another appropriated section to ask help about the cdrom eject.
thanks

At first sight a topic titled:i didn't find another appropriated section to ask help about the cdrom eject.
unless of course you boot FreeDos from NOWHERE , would be more appropriate here :eject CDROM from freedos
Boot Land > Groups > Boot from USB / Boot anywhere > FreeDos and Dos
Are you suggesting we make a "CDROM" section or an "eject" one? (no, we won't make a "from" one, no matter how much you ask for it)
Most eject CD apps are dependent on the drive letter.

fxeject:
http://www.simtel.ne...t/view/id/42082
can also use the drive address:
FXEJECT - © by Ingo Heeskens (11/13/94)
-------
Usage : FXEJECT -command<w> [I/O-Address]
command : o - open c - close
l - lock u - unlock
<w> : If adding a 'w' to the command the program waits until
the drive is ready after executing the command (works
only with mitsumi FX001(D)).
I/O-Address : address of the cd-rom controller, leave blank if you
are not using a FX001(D) and/or MSCDEX
examples : FXEJECT -o (open, using MSCDEX)
FXEJECT -l $300 (lock drive with controller address
$300)
FXEJECT -cw $340 (close drive with address $340, wait
until it's ready)
Will it work in freedos?
Will it work for you?
Try it and report.

i'm tying the fxeject but it hangs in dos.
It hangs with which command line?
In which dos?
In which hardware?
I don't have ej handy, but as far as I can remember it hooked on MSCDEX or similar driver, so it won't be useful in your situation.

Which command line did you use with FXeject?
We have this convention, that when we put one of thiese little hooks signs "?" at the end of a sentence it is a question, and it would be nice if you could answer to these.
Since it is VMWARE, it is very likely that a hardware related function does not work, are yo using an internal virtual CD rom or a physical device in VMWARE?
Anyway this kind of utilities (if they work) should be tested on real hardware.
