Usually on technical boards we use the term "downgraded" to describe the change of OS from XP to Vista .
At first sight it could be an IP conflict of some kind.
But you need to provide far more details in order to hopefully troubleshoot the problem.
Open a command window, and in it type:
IPCONFIG /ALL[ENTER]
(this will show the actual output)
then run again:
IPCONFIG /ALL >C:\ipconfig1.txt[ENTER]
(this will write the output to file c:\ipconfig1.txt)
do the same on both machines, TWO times, one when you have connectivity working on that machine, and one when you have NOT the connectivity working on that machine (on second run change the name of the file to c:\ipconfig2.txt)
Then put the two files coming from the XP machine in a folder "XP" and the two coming from the Vista machine in a folder called "Vista".
Compress the two folder in a .zip archive, upload it to a filehosting service, and post a link to the download on your next post.
Are we talking of "wired" internet connectivity or of "wireless"?
