Use ExplorerXP in XP environment http://www.explorerxp.com/

Try LiveXP_WIM.ISO made with amalux project LX.061412 http://reboot.pro/to...-15#entry162656

It can remove System Volume Information

:cheers:

Hi wimb! Yes, but no. I have some problems with some intel chipset, when I run LiveXP. The CPU temperature rises to 70° C or 80 °C.

Besides that sometimes there are many incompatibilities with chipsets that do not have native-sata.

So the idea is also to do it from Win7PE.

Just tried deleting files in “System Volume Information” from my win7PE using:

Lockhunter, Unlocker, UnlockIT, Fileassassin & LockedFilesWizard.

Only the last 2 tools succeeded.

Scripts for all 5 tools are here:

http://al-jo.zxq.net/ulockers.zip

Tested in this project:

http://al-jo.net46.net/7pe_ulock.zip

using Windows7 x86 sp0 as source.

Hi al_jo! I have run the project 7pe_ulock, and when starting 7PE, the appear an error: ClasicStartMenu.exe "incorrect image" related to dwmapi.dll.

My Source is Windows 7 x86 with SP1 (Spanish), not modified (msdn release).

------

I disappeared from the forum due to work, I quit my job six months ago, to begin independent... Wherefore I haven't much time to further investigate this topic, or to continue with the application that I  showed you in my previous posts.

But when I get some free time, I will redo it from scratch, in Lazarus (free pascal with an incredible IDE), and I will share this application.
So, I waiting for some genius to discover what is the problem to  removing \System Volume Information and others folders like \Windows\winsxs.

Thanks al -jo those 2 will both delete the files.

So now I have to ask is why Explorer cannot take ownership from any file and/or delete some files.

I ask this because the anti-virus has trouble deleting some files while in the win7pe but in a Xp_pe it works fine.

Thanks for you help.

P.S. That is a nice build!!

@u2o

Please use this ISO as source (Windows7 x86 sp0)

@racerx

Sorry, nothing from here to add to the explorer.exe discussion.

But I’m curious: Which anti-virus prog can not delete “some” files from a win7pe?

Anyway, just added AVZ, SpybotSD & Mbam to the project. Give it a try:

http://al-jo.net46.net/7pe_ulock.zip (alternative download is here)

Ps.

Also the included scripts for DPwiper and WipeFile was able to

delete “System Volume Information” files.

al_jo thanks for all the help.

It was Avir* that could not delete a file in SVI but my Xp_Pe had no problem.
