Thank you for the interesting Screenshot of SIM
Until now I have not used SIM but it seems interesting to investigate its possibilities. :)

Also thanks a lot for the Profile list.
Using Profiles is working different from what you expect.
Actually this list are the essential files to keep in the next build when being used by Dism with /Apply-Profiles option.

After booting with the previous build, all actions that you use will determine which files to occur as essential
and only these files will then appear in the Profile list.

Anyway thanks for this interesting list of essential files in your build.

:)

EDIT: Try to make a codebox for the lengthy filelist to improve readability of your post.

this list can be usefull for you if you change all tr-tr to en-en with notepad and apply to your winpe7 (only an idea need to try if its work or not)

Thanks, I will try to use your list of essential files in this way. :)

I have just released an Update for Make_PE3 package

I have NOT yet used an Optimized pe3_x86.iso on different machines.

May be you are right, but hopefully they keep the drivers ..... to keep it as Universal Boot Image. :)

Optimizing the Boot Image can save a lot of space, e.g. reduce size with 50 MB :)

My Optimized pe3_x86.iso has now a size of only 124 MB with a lot of functionality of Windows 7. :)

May be you can try to Apply Optimize Profile and see how much size reduction you can get. :)

Hello vvurat :)
WimB :

Anyway thanks for this interesting list of essential files in your build.

EDIT: Try to make a codebox for the lengthy filelist to improve readability of your post.

Vvurat :

This is the list that profiling recommend me to delete. maybe can be usefull for you. doesnt look like useful for me. How can services.msc be unuseful. It will help to decide deleting some files.

I don't understand :) , it's a initial list of your famous win7pe (With theme, network etc) or a modified light list ? Can you send me your original files list (i will convert in SCRIPT for Winbuilder) ?
And can you extract your registry setting (And send me your REG Files, i will convert in SCRIPT for Winbuilder)for share your experience with the maximum of users :)

WimB, if you understand the work of vvura, can you help me ? (In the goal to adapt the work for winbuilder) :)

And the worlds smallest windows 7 coming soon with 250mb wim size, 12mb winsxs folder and working 100 services under 512mb ram. I dont know why but after optimization and it delete so many files more services started to work :) Event system and Sens started to work.

@vvurat
It is very interesting what you achieved already. :)
Nice that more services start to work when you have used Optimize Profile and have in fact less files.

@ludovici
Actually vvurat is adding files and registry settings of Windows 7 to Windows PE 3.0

In this way it is similar as what is done with Make_PE3.exe
But vvurat is adding more files and more parts of SYSTEM and SOFTWARE registry to get a more perfect pe3_x86.iso

It would be interesting if we can feed Make_PE3.exe
with the files and parts of SYSTEM and SOFTWARE registry settings of Windows 7 that he is actually adding.

What would be needed is in fact:

Make_PE3\PE3_mod\WIN7_add\x86\WIN7_add_files.txt with extra Windows 7 files

Make_PE3\PE3_mod\PE3_reg\x86\PE3-SYSTEM_WLAN.reg with extra parts of from Windows 7 SYSTEM registry

Make_PE3\PE3_mod\PE3_reg\x86\PE3-SOFTWARE_WLAN.reg with extra parts of from Windows 7 SOFTWARE registry

Then we can use Make_PE3.exe to create pe3_x86.iso according to vvurat

:unsure:

Hallo vvurat,

I tried to use your configuration and filelist and to use Make_PE3.exe to create pe3_x86.iso

I can boot with PE3 and have BS Explorer or Explorer Shell selectable with PEShell via Ctrl+Alt+Delete
Also Disk Management and Portable Programs via PStart are working. That is all very good.

But the main problem is:

When clicking on Computer or Control Panel Icon, I get Server Process could Not Start.
The configured Identity is incorrect. Check Username and Password.

Does anyone know how to solve this Identity problem ?

Server Process could Not Start

vvurat uses a full windows with user login.

Key's like these can only work in full windows, as PE doesn't have user login.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\AppID\{....}]
"RunAs"="Interactive User"

They should be removed as they cause problems in PE mode.

Thanks JFX :)

I will try to remove such keys.

Until now I cannot use explorer.exe or control.exe and get service cannot start due to identity error.

I see you have solved this issue in 7PE
Is it just removal of those registry entries or is there more to be done ?

BTW the 64-bits version pe3_amd64.iso made with Make_PE3.exe is working now,
thanks to your 5-Wow64.script , but there are still improvements necessary.

@wimb
I haven't changed main registry stuff of multi7pe yet. Just came across these key's.
Thanks to your wireless findings, the next mutli7 se will come with wlan support for all sources :)

EDIT:

Is it just removal of those registry entries or is there more to be done ?

Think removing the runas entire is enough.

no. my classes key not different from other winbuilder projects. ( i think so.) I took windows install classes key and import clid.reg on it. (if it works it is better to have more). I didnt make any change on it else then this. classes key very big. i scare from it

Now i am working on ie8 and jpg,bmp support with photoviewer. is there any internet explorer plugin. i think i need internet explorer classes keys. can pull from such a script (forexample from vistape). internet explorer opens but closes after.

Then you should have these keys in your registry. Importing clid.reg doesn't remove them.

Why so many guy want IE. There is something much better Posted Image
