The driver can not be installed in WinXP x64 - an error appears: A service installation section in this INF is invalid.

And is it "surprising"? :dubbio:

https://bearwindows....om.au/vbemp.htm

It supports ALL of MS Windows NT™ Family (3.x,4.0,2000(5.0),XP/XPMCE/WFLP 32-bit(5.1),2003 Server 32-bit(5.2)).

In the vbempk.zip archive there are XPAMD64 folders:

xpamd64.png

Something is wrong in this section in the vbemppnp.inf file:

;
; Service Installation
;

[Vbemp.Services]
AddService = Vbemp, 0x00000002 , Vbemp_Service_Inst, Vbemp_EventLog_Inst

[Vbemp_Service_Inst]
DisplayName    = %Vbemp.SvcDesc%
ServiceType    = 1                  ; SERVICE_KERNEL_DRIVER
StartType      = 1                  ; SERVICE_SYSTEM_START
ErrorControl   = 0                  ; SERVICE_ERROR_IGNORE
LoadOrderGroup = Video
ServiceBinary  = %12%\Vbemp.sys

[Vbemp_EventLog_Inst]
AddReg = Vbemp_EventLog_AddReg

[Vbemp_EventLog_AddReg]
HKR,,EventMessageFile,0x00020000,"%SystemRoot%\System32\IoLogMsg.dll;%SystemRoot%\System32\drivers\Vbemp.sys"
HKR,,TypesSupported,0x00010001,7

I found a workaround - before installation, the driver PNP vbemp.sys must be manually copied to WINDOWS\system32\drivers

P.S. bearwindows - thank you for the driver :-)  Using the driver can run WinXP SP2 x64 with EFI firmware from MBR partition :lol: :P :D

Does Windows XP have EFI?

Respect :thumbup:  :thumbup:  :thumbup:

I found an error in the vbemppnp.inf file
For the 64-bit version, it should be without .x86:

[SourceDisksNames.x86]
1 = %DiskId1%,,,""

Now you do not have to manually copy the vbemp.sys file to install the driver.
