Hello,

I'm having an issue where my RamDisk is stay persistent on reboots and shutdowns.

 imdisk -a -s 19G -m R: -p "/v:temp_data /fs:ntfs /q /y"

It also keeps all 19GB of data on the ramdisk as well. This is NOT something I was expecting or wanting.

I have tried running the following command @ shutdown and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

imgdisk -D -m R:

Any ideas or suggestions on how to make sure it doesn't remember it on restart/shutdown?

Thanks.

It is because of the new fast boot of Windows 8: all system processes are written to the disk, like for an "hibernation", but without the user processes.

If you don't want this, you must disable the fast boot (you might see not a big difference if your ramdisk is no longer written to the disk).

The only way I know is to disable the hibernation, by entering the following command in a command prompt with admin rights: powercfg -h off

By the way, how much RAM do you have? :)
