"Created with WinBuilder" (not by WinBuilder) may be appropriate, but not "WinBuilder".
It's not WinBuilder booting, but software created by MS.
See http://en.wikipedia....wiki/Rebranding
"product ... developed with one brand ... distributed with a different identity"
I don't like seeing persistent attempts to drive Nuno and WinBuilder into a legal trap
It will not go, there are enough smart people here ...Yes, including myself
I believe, to be on a safe side, Nuno should not endorse usage of alternative boot logos.
Though, what WinBuilder users do is their own business

1) The Copyright appears INSIDE a graphical representation of a computer screen
2) This means that the Copyright notice does not apply to the whole image, but rather to the image represented inside the screen, or as above is perceived
3) the image inside the screen has nothing that can be copyrighted:
a.) the blue backgroung is NOT coverable by copyright
b.) the Winbuilder name cannot be copyrighted, at the most it can represent a trademark
There is the possibility of a breach of Copyright as the image conveys the impression of being a standard desktop of a Microsoft Operating System, which overall layout, colours used, and menuing system could be covered by an existing Copyright, or other form of protection of Intellectual or Business Property.
Moreover to eventually have a right to bring a claim to court for breach of Copyright, the action must be started by the Copyright holder, that from the evidence of this thread is undoubtedly TheHive, unless he signs a written agreement (with his real name of course, and PROOF that he is actually "known" as "TheHive") to donate his rights to Nuno or whoever else.
As already said, I am not, and probably noone here is, a lawyer specialized in international defense of Intellectual Property, and I would do anything to stay clear of one of them (professionally I mean, nothing personal against them), but I would not risk by playing on what could be a border line.
So, overall, whilst a solution for the end user to easily change the bootscreen should be provided, I think that claiming a copyright on the bootscreen is unnecessary and potentially a cause of problems.
Of course only the holder of Copyright, TheHive or Nuno, if the agrement is made, can decide whether to put the notice or not.
Besides, and may TheHive pardon me , the "Copyright © Nuno Brito" writings appears "wobbly"....

Does anyone have contact with sherpya (e.g. on 911 forum)?using sherpya's bootvid works great
Would it be possible to extend his bootvid.dll so that it is not only compatible with Windows PE1 (Windows XP SP2 and Windows Server 2003) but also Windows PE2 (Windows Vista)?
Many Greetings
