Can PE Network auto-import the WLAN profile? I've have PE Network running in my Live XP (SP2) build. It copies my WLAN drivers, hotfix, and WLAN profile. I can find the WLAN profile in the system directory, but it isn't automatically imported to the preferred networks in PE Network. If i run PENetwork and import it, everything works fine and it connects to the network. Is there anyway to eliminate this manual step? I need to have it auto-connect to my WLAN on boot. Thanks.

I'm having a problem with PE Network Manager 0.56. In the Preferred Networks section on the Wifi tab, if I double click on a connection I get an error "The exception Illegal Instruction. An attempt was made to execute an illegal instruction. (0xc000001d) occurred in the application at location 0x753f9617". This wouldn't be a problem except that the wireless network at my workplace is a "hidden" one so I need to use the Preferred Networks section to set up the connection to it. The wireless card is detected correctly and can pick up non-hidden wireless networks, so I am assuming everything else is working as it should be, does anyone have any suggestions which I can try? (I'm using Make_PE3)

EDIT: OK, I think I found a related problem... when I exported the wifi profile to an XML file, in the file the "nonBroadcast" tag was listed as "false", I changed this to "true" and imported it back in and now the connection works OK. I still get the same error if I try to double click it in Preferred Networks though.

I extracted the network manager out of the script and everything works good. For cable networks.

PE Network Manager says there is no WLAN API. Is this because I am using it with Windows PE 3.0 from WAIK?

Aus irgendeinem Grund werden bei mir nicht die Profile geladen, so wie ich sie im Konfigurator angelegt habe.
Es sieht so aus, als ob das config File nicht geladen wird. Allerdings werden Einstellungen wie "Startup Countdown" übernommen. Es werden nur keine Profile geladen....
hat jemand eine Idee ?

Ich bin für jede Hilfe dankbar.

Is there any way you can use PENetwork in a normal installed Windows XP SP3 and more important, can you use profiles and have PENetwork start before Windows is booted?
What I mean is, normally inside PE environment, you can have the option to load PENetwork (or PENetCfg also) during HwPnP detection and it will load a certain profile (user can even choose) and allow those values be set/changed for the NIC and the OS (for example Computer Name).
Doing this before the boot is completed has major advantages as some changes or settings need a reboot.

Can anyone say if they have any experience with this, or am I just taking the difficult road and is PENetwork not the tool to use with a normal Windows XP SP3 installation?
If so, how can I approach this another way?

i m having problem using internet as i have to connect using a broadband connection that requires a username and password (type of connection PPPoE) [i know it suc*s ] i see no option in PE network manager for such a connection
