My PC has an OnBoard Intel 845G video processor.
Until today all trials to bring the 15 MB of the Intel driver to run in the PE (booted from burned CD) ended bad.
I had 640 * 480 pixels with 16 colors.
Today I made a new script with bearwindows's 19 kB driver.

And here the result:
UVD.gif

Great, bearwindows :1st:

BTW The script can be download from the nativeEx server.

I delivered a new version of the script to the nativeEx server.

If you have a video card not yet included in the *.inf, you may try to add it
(No guarantee of success!)

I would love to see this driver in VistaPE too. Bearwindows, how can we convince you to think about Vista support?

NO WAY!!! NO VISTA SUPPORT IS PLANNED and visit http://badvista.fsf.org/

@bearwindows

If I understood the '8 colors' topic correctly, the input boxex in the script do not help to find an unknown card.
They only may show the name you gave your card.

If that is true, I'll remove this feature.

This is correct. When you add your vendor/device id's in vbemp.inf file you only helps system to NAME card as is NAMED in inf-file. That's all. No real help.

***

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT VBEMP (all versions W2K/XP and higher)

If your card is working slowly with VBEMP installed, especially when moving windows and scrolling text you may improve it: go to Control Panel -> Display -> Settings tab -> Advanced button -> Troubleshooting tab and move Hardware acceleration slider to the left position (None).

BTW, today (June, 17) I release a new recent version of vbemp driver.

1) Added feature to enable/disable monitor PNP detection via DDC channel.
2) Fixed incompatibility with Microsoft VirtualPC 2004.
3) NT 3.1 / NT 3.5 support is enabled.
4) EISA bus now detects correctly.

I delivered a new script to nativeEx server containing the above mentioned latest version.

I delivered version 004 to the nativeEx server.

The old version needed PNP detection done by other scripts.
When there was no script causing PNP detection, the driver has not been installed.

Now the Universal Video Driver delivers its own PNP detection and is always installed.

Today I release experimental Control Panel Extenion for VBEMP.
I make it at 1jan2007. After 6month of thinking (release or not release it) I decided to do it NOW: http://navozhdeniye....ru/vbempcpl.rar :) :) :)
Copy VBEMP.CPL it to %SystemRoot%\System32\ and enjoy!!!
To test it, you may not install VBEMP on your system at all - VBEMP.CPL will also work.

Some days ago bearwindows released a new version of his Universal Video Driver.

I included the VEMP30/W2003/PNP version into a new version 8 of the script.

Me too,
I also added support for changing the new acceleration setting [ 1 or 5 ], and cpl ext. on/off.
Hi Peter!

Thanks, bearwindows!!

..hoping the latest driver will work with the nvidia gforce go 7150, an integrated chipset in my laptop.
Next I can also test it with a gforce 6600 series PCIE chipset (256 Mb.), my fingers are crossed.

-edit-

Works, but does not yet out-perform the stock xp driver on such chiptsets. That's not the objective either so no suprises there.

New version 9 is available on the nativeEx server.

Functionality of the script's driver is unchanged, but the script now contains the license agreement, as bearwindows asked me for.

@Galapo, thunn: please use the new version or add the license stuff to your scripts!

Peter have you ever thought about not installing the driver with pnp, but the way the default XP vga driver is installed by txtsetup.sif?
Wouldn't that be the more logical solution for your nativeEX_barebone?

:)

No, I didn't.

But I think I should ...
