Hope, everyone understands how to translate "billion" into real life "features" - no video needed.
This website IMHO is a valuable source of info, and its a good idea to support it any way we can.

Really? For some Alexa ranking means nothing, while others (already) collected billions of dollars off this ranking.
How did they make these big bucks?

Website Monetization - there's nothing wrong in striving to lawfully achieve financial glory, no matter how you slice it.

Ask advertisers, why they prefer to place ads on these sites... Then look at each of these sites' published annual reports and owner's financial status. After that you're free to use yet non-patented Wonko's Analytics Engine (if any).
If I wanted to ask them I would have asked them allright, rest assured, I was instead asking you if you have DIRECT, PERSONAL, data to backup your statement about the "others" (whomever they might be) that " (already) collected billions of dollars off this ranking" and if you were willing to share such information, including any available info about the RELATIONSHIP between the Alexa rank and the big bucks.
This seems to me - but if you have any meaningful data I am well ready to change my opinion - that it is an issue very similar to the egg and the chicken.
Are you really sure that site with Rank #1, i.e. Google has made big bucks BECAUSE it is rated #1 in Alexa (or would it be possible that it made big bucks "somehow else" and that it was listed as #1 BECAUSE it ALREADY made big bucks (offering web based servces, including it's Search Engine)? ).
Or, if you prefer, do you think that Google has it's volume of traffic BECAUSE it is #1 in Alexa?

Well, even if you wanted to ask leading web advertisers about their ad sites selection preferences, they might not be willing to talk with you. This privilege is reserved for members of forums like this - be realistic pls, and value this opportunity to express yourself for free.

Sure , I never pretended that they would answer me, what I said was that if I wanted to ask them I would have done so, INSTEAD I asked you, since you made a statement without providing any meaningful detail.Well, even if you wanted to ask leading web advertisers about their ad sites selection preferences, they might not be willing to talk with you.
Of course you are perfectly free to answer my question or ignore it, though this would confirm once again how you are here mostly to disseminate your pearls of wisdom which you arbitrarily assume as being so apodictical that they never need any explanation or data to support them.
Yep , this is why I asked you some info about your statement for which evidently you have NO backup whatsoever (or you have them but you decided to NOT answer my question )This privilege is reserved for members of forums like this - be realistic pls, and value this opportunity to express yourself for free.
BTW, it is well possible that people mananging billions of advertisement budget are so gullible as to trust such a meaningless thing as Alexa rank is (IMHO), but wouldn't they be aware how you can seemingly "buy" some Alexa traffic?:

http://www.fulltraffic.net/alexa
http://www.signups.m...teed_alexa.html
Or are the above example simply fakes?
Another (very small scale) example/experiment that hints that Alexa is just b*ll§h1t:

Now, this is interesting:

someone making (big? ) bucks for giving advice on people who make (big? ) bucks by increasing Alexa Ranking which makes (big? ) bucks by making "others" make (big? ) bucks.....

Of course, this world is not perfect, and in its every corner the same order is in place: there are two sets of rules - special for rich & powerful and generic for everyone else. I was talking about the "generic" ones. But since you're rich and powerful, though "grumpy and cheap (but that is not relevant)", your vision is different from the Alexa counted masses'.

Actually you are not at all communicating with me.That's why I always enjoy communicating with you (while the opposite isn't necessarily true) and utmost value your generous Insightful-Sanity® lessons.
I asked you a simple question and you completely failed to answer it, this is not "communicating".

How would you suggest a website owner (based on your huge practical experience ) to make the website more popular in the eyes of an advertising bystander?

Good, then you are not communicating with me.This is not a Q & A session, my dear, but a learning arrangements to take lessons from the (sane) MASTER.
Personally - but it's not at all my field of experience - I would suggest him/her to have better content in it and thus increase the number of visitors (real ones) as opposed to suggesting to increase a BIASed and meaningless ranking system. How would you suggest a website owner (based on your huge practical experience ) to make the website more popular in the eyes of an advertising bystander?
Since you claimed that "others (already) collected billions of dollars off this ranking" I am very interested to know who they are, and more generally have from you some data to support your statement.

First, a website strives to become more popular among advertisers by increasing its ranking by means available to the masses - i.e. using the ways you suggested and many others (its a whole new science now). Once it's collected enough cash to buy just about everyone, they buy a fair share of the ranking company to NOW control, what their ranking is - meaning ensuring stable revenue stream regardless of anything (more or less). Its like in our Carpenter's Union - entitlement depends on seniority.
For some old Masters, their seniority level should deliver some candy too, not only headache.

Actually there is NO dialog, and NO circle at all, as you insist on NOT answering me and going as usual on your own train of thought, babbling about something without providing anything to support your statements and more generally going off on a tangent....See - it goes along the same circle, as in our dialog.
I would say it's half-circle connected to a line (infinite) leading to nonsense.

Btw, last time you went to that Laundry and forget to empty your pants' pockets before dropping them into that nasty Washer - remember? When you finally took them out of that noisy Dryer, there was plenty of clean cash coming out of the pockets. That's how Wonko Inc. made startup capital.
On a serious note - what are you offering in place of hope to the forum runners? You claim the world we live in is corrupt - that's old news. Lets constructively help Reboot community the way we can. Similar way, it helps us when we need it.
