Win7PE WinSXS\Backup?

Hello, Would it hurt to remove this directory? and would there be a perferred way to remove it? like DISM? or just wipe it out?

Yes, it would likely hurt (and I mean really hurt), just don't do it.

 

Cleaning it up might be useful - in some cases - to reduce the size on disk, though it is unlikely that a proper PE build has much to be cleaned up, but surely not deleting it completely.

to evaluate the actual space used by that folder.

Might as well not.

It works just fine in all my windows setups, when there's no need for windows updates and other minor functions like add remove windows features.

But you never know what's gona broke unless you need it.

It looks like WinReducer just wipes out WinSxs\Backup  :dubbio:
