No idea yet, as when it could be useful to me, but it certainly looks good & interesting...

Pity that error handling is zero (the .bat need to be run at Elevated Command Prompt)

Also what needs to be added for USB/Intel support?

Thanks

sebus

No go really:

*******************************************************************************

1 - Creating directory C:\MicroPEbak

2 - Mounting WinPE.wim

3 - Adding WIM-package to PE

4 - Enabling profiling

5 - Applying MicroPE x64 profile

6 - Preparing delta-image

7 - Unmounting WinPE.wim

8 - Spawning MicroPE x64 copy
xdelta3: source file too short: XD3_INTERNAL

9 - Spawning MicroPE x64 Virtual Machine
xdelta3: file open failed: read: MicroPEx64.7z: The system cannot find the file
specified.

The system cannot find the file specified.
Could Not Find X:\MicroPEx64\MicroPEx64.7z
Could Not Find X:\MicroPEx64\MicroPEx64VM.7z

The directory is not empty.

*******************************************************************************

All done! You should now have a "Windows" and "MicroPE x64 VM"-subdirectory.

I know its years later to post reply, but... with some trickery with Windows 10 stuff, I have managed to throw out the GUI stack entirely, heres how it looks:

It's actually quite easy: what I did is download NanoServer VHD, then mounted it, and changed the registry to start at cmd.exe not ERT or whatever there was before. It even has powershell, networking, and it seems as if some dotnet built in.

Now I'm working on making it as light as possible, stripping everything I can out, and just leave the bare minimum to run windows. As OP said years ago, saving resources it quite useful in some areas, and I actually find it pretty cool to have Windows without GUI.

One of the things I'm also thinking is... maybe theres a chance to port bash on linux susbsystem to this aswell

Didnt really know where else to create the topic, Its not PE though, it saves data aswell
