Hi

In the Windows 10 DVD, there is a file called boot.wim which has two volume images almost equal named "Microsoft Windows PE" and "Microsoft Windows Setup".

I want to know what is their difference?

Thanks

Bye

Microsoft Windows PE contains only the preinstall environment (PE) image, that we use to create live versions of windows 7, 8 and so on.

Microsoft Windows Setup is the image that contains the setup of the os, what you see when installing windows (settings like date & time, username, other settings). It is a modified version of Microsoft Windows PE.
