I wrote a Windows To Go guide a little while ago. The guide has now been updated - http://mistyprojects...oGo/readme.html

Windows To Go running on a portable SSD is subjectively fast. It makes a viable alternative to WinPE and a great base for a Windows Forensic Environment.

Feedback welcome.

You say to use wim image 1

In some ISOs that is Windows 'Cloud' not Home.

Shouldn't you do a  dism /get-wiminfo  command to find out which one is Enterprise or Pro in case MS change the order one day?

@steve6375
Good point. Guide updated to add a note about image/index in the sections that cover extracting/applying install.wim.
