Testing with a Clean slate.

Downloaded WinBuilder 051 again. To start clean.
http://www.boot-land...w...view&iden=2

Today I merge my tree scripts into one and add nice GUI.

Downloaded xpe_pnp008_aio.script.7z from post 37.
http://www.boot-land...?...post&p=4263
Suggestion to add it to the first post. Leave the others that are there but have this as being the latest.

I made light modified Quemu script. Checkbox "Enable audio" added. Just check it and you can hear your WinBuilder. I test it with Winbuilder 051 and its Qemu 0.8.2. I was wrong about Quemu Audio Driver, now (in version 0.8.2) it use the same driver that VMware. you need VMware audio script only for audio in Qemu and VMWare both.
@TheHive combatt.sys and audio troubles, it seems like infcachebuild script working wrong, try smiley's infcacheuild or try to make it by hands.
Look at picture. It shows when audio work right

Downloaded and replaced the Qemu script with
Downloaded qEmu.with.audio.7z from Post #41
Same suggestion to post it to the first post.
http://www.boot-land...?...post&p=4358

Im also adding the Vmware Drivers for Video card and Audio Scripts. And also the Qemu Video Script.
As you suggested that the Audio Drivers for Qemu and VMware is the same Im not using the Qemu Audio Driver Script.

Im not using any seperate infcache builder script. I think you said it was included in the new xpe_pnp008_aio.script.7z

I will also add the xpe_directx002.script.7z Script. To see if it sees the video Card and the audi card.
http://www.boot-land...?...ic=537&st=0

I will try Smileys MMC script on Winbuilder 051 to see if it works with this build.

Testing begins.

ie4uinit.exe - Application Error
The application failed to initialize properly (0xc000012d). Click OK to terminate the application.

Sometimes i got this error using autoUPX. Try to build without it.
ie4uinit.exe is necessary to run autorun.cmd, that run creating shortcut and start hwpnp.

it seems as you stated a UPX Script Problem.

Detection went fine when booted into the Desktop. No errors so far.

No Audio Device Detected. Only the Video is detected. I can right click on the My computer and select Manage. But I dont get the Services to look at Device Manager.

Will test more when I get back.

Will update with further testing on this thread so its best to refresh.

Testing the DirectX
When I launch DirectX shortcut it gives and error when scanning and then it makes the screen messed up. Then I have to change resolution again to fix it to 640 by 480.

It is a secondary UPX issue:
This error message in my opinion appears if you did not give Qemu sufficient amount of RAM.
And UPXed files need a lot of RAM to expand ...

As an alternity try define more RAM for Qemu.

Peter

BTW Inspite I wrote autoUPX, I do not like it's general use. It should be reserved for special purposes. As everybody knows, a CD has 650 MB ...
And instead of using a physical CD, what about a driver like Nero ImageDrive to boot from ISO?
Then you have an free CD drive for everything you want to do ...

Running under Qemu. I still get the compbatt.sys problem.

I also get the same error I reported when launching the DirectX Shortcut.

It report the same Dlls in the DirectX tabs as posted above. The VMware Display Video Card is showing.

There is no Sound Card recognized.

Just checked how much RAM the Run in Qemu had set. It was at 128MB. Ill try 256MB.

More Ram Does fix the problem for ie4uinit.exe error reported earlier. It boots fine now.
When I use the UPX. The DirectX icon doesnt show in the Shortcut.

I still get the same erros when I run the DirectX Shortcut.

HighwayStar can you compress your working Winbuilder Folder and attach it here. Or someone else might want to test to see if they get the same results as mine.

Looking at the New porject.
You have two scripts that change the Screen Resolution.
[tweaks]Screen Resolution Script and Display Properties Script.
Im disabling Screen Resolution Script and using the Display Properties Script. I have to also changed the resolution to 800 by 600 in the Display Properties Script.

There is also a Rusian Local Script. Is this similar to the autolocalization script or the Locale Folder Script. Ill test using the one you have in your porject. The only change I will do is the one above in disabling the Screen Display Script.
I also added the qEmu.Script with audio.

Booted up fine

First thing I notice is that all Shortcuts are not created. Only the one to the Quicklaunch

When you select the Manage option when you right click the "My Computer" you get the following error that says "The selected file cannot be found".

Im trying the following suggestion

to get Device manger, please run X:\i386\system32\devmgmt.msc

devmgmt.msc doesnt seem to be in the X:\i386\system32\devmgmt.msc

I did find it in the X:\BIN\devmgmt.msc

It would be nice if you asked me permission to redistribute my programs / plugins.

If you had bothered to do this then I would have said yes and would also have said please also include a link to my website where people can go to check to make sure they have the latest versions and for further information.

@paraglider
I'm really sorry that not ask your permission :P . UpdateDevices script updated with link to your site.
What about infcachebuild and updateinfs? Can I encode them into xpe_pnp script?

HighwayStar, I've just tested version 8 and it booted without problems..

On the log I've noticed an error reporting that XPSP2RES.DL_ was missing from my windows source - this is not the first time it happens, I usually add some code to ensure that this file is only expanded after checking that it exists..

From:
Expand,"%SourceDir%\i386\XPSP2RES.DL_","%TargetDir%\I386\system32"

To:
If,ExistFile,"%SourceDir%\i386\XPSP2RES.DL_",Expand,"%SourceDir%\i386\XPSP2RES.DL_","%TargetDir%\I386\system32"

:P

Thank you for the apology.

Infcachebuild is a Sherpya program. Updateinfs is no longer required - it was superceded by infcachebuild. Infcachebuild also generates the infcache.1 file.

I have tried hard to get infcachebuild working on Vista but have failed. Unfortunately the api that it calls nolonger exists. I did have some hope that if I persuaded infcachebuild to use the setupapi.dll from xp + sp2 then it would work. However it does not.

ReactOS also includes a setupapi.dll on their distribution, and it's only an idea - but would it be possible to adapt the source code from their project since it's open-source to provide the missing API call? :P

Please try your AllInOne script with W2003 source.

There are a lot of missing files.

This is script is needed for more than music. I have created a new version of the custom drivers script, but this requires hwpnp and this script. In my tests I chnged it a bit to be compatible with the latest versions of Winbuilder but I think that HighwayStar should do this and not me.

Yeah, I don't have time and ideas for it now.
About half month early I've trying to do remake of this script but it's not finished yet.

CHANGES:
Packet unpacking of drivers with 7za.exe instead of extract.exe
Some missed files founded

Don't work now:
Shortcuts in Start menu - I cant understand, how to make shortcuts to run program with command line parameters.
USB - missed files, system can't boot if you chose USB in script setup. Need a lot of tests :confused1:
VEEERY long start of services. Up to 5 minutes with desktop without shortcuts and cursor. I think it's missed files or wrong registry entries. Not my, but new version of base scripts.

What's work:
Sound.
SVGA.
maybe something else.

Everybody welcome to help with "Don't work" section. :confused1:

Here version 9 of xpe-pnp-aio.script.

Hi highwaystar, could this performance issue be related to the used mkisofs?

http://www.911cd.net...amp;mode=linear

There are some reports that this doesn't happen with CDimage:
http://www.911cd.net...t...=21&t=15282

Don't worry about shortcuts on the desktop or start menu - I will be posting some detailed instructions soon.. :confused1:

Are you using infcachebuild to generate the infcache.1 file. Make sure it generated correctly if you are. If it has a size of around 37kb then it did not generate correctly.
