Windows 10 Setup Helper for gamers, power users and administrators.

- When you remove MS Edge there will be IE11!
- You have to hide Search from TaskBar if you remove MS Cortana because it is without function. You can use search in File Explorer as normal. And you have to download and install Classic Start Menu because without Cortana the Explorer Start Menu won't work. To install only Classic Start Menu start setup with command line parameters: ADDLOCAL=ClassicStartMenu
Run through setup until Cortana shows up. Now press Shift+F10. Run the script...

- OneDrive can be removed before it gets installed

Just tested and removed all Apps, Cortana, One Drive and Edge, also applied Black Viper's Windows 10 Service Configuration 'Safe' during install and manually deselected all MS Telemetry options, booted fine, no problem, latter ran O&O ShutUp10 v1.5.1389 (2017.04.11): https://www.oo-softw...com/en/shutup10

Windows 10 will run fast on old computers after this cleanup.

    When you remove MS Edge there will be IE11!
    You must hide Search from TaskBar if you remove MS Cortana because it is without function.

    Following Apps are installed on Server 2016: Calculator and Store.

Here are the steps:

Important!!! Disconnect from Internet because setup will run updates immediately!

1. Put this folder with files on your Windows 10 Setup USB/Disc (or anywhere else you can access during early windows setup; caution you have no explorer only command prompt during setup!).

2. Do a clean installation, reset or update of Windows 10 and wait
   until the Windows Setup ask you for input (title at this setup step: ‘Get going fast’) but enter nothing for now!!!

3. Now press Shift+F10 on your keyboard. A a command prompt should open.
   If you can't find your usb drive letter, type the following command
      wmic logicaldisk get deviceid, volumename, description
   Switch to you Windows 10 Setup USB/Disc and change to this folder.
   Sample: cd /D E:\Win10Lite

4. Run file rmApps.cmd and answer the questions for your needs.

5. Close the command prompt and finish Windows 10 Setup.

 

To easily find WinLite10 folder I put it in \sources\$oem$\$1\WinLite10 on my USB used for install, and then when pressing shift+F10 during install just found it on C:\WinLite10

It is already broken since it was born, all updated versions are allways full of bugs, so what the hell if I just remove all I don't like in it just to see if it can be done and How, maybe just maybe after removing all that trash I find in the core a good solid OS that can be used as the every day system, not just a toy OS.

What is technical name of 'Get going fast' screen in term of installation 'Phases' ? eg. Specialize, SetupComplete, FirstLogon ?

Can we not just automatically run 'rmApps.cmd' using 'Autounattend.xml' during installation process ?

I do not know the answer to your questions but you may try by yourself, it is the final screen where Windows gives you a lot of options to select your preferences.

 

Once there you type Shift+F10 to open a command promt, change to WinLite10 and run rmApps.cmd.

I wouldn't worry about "Get going Faster" It's not included with Windows 10 1703, What I had to do was the moment the system asks you any questions/options to choose I clicked Shift+F10 and the command prompt opens. then you follow through with using Win10Lite.

I found troubles during activation, and it was because just after install ran O&O ShutUp10 v1.5.1389 (2017.04.11) and selected all items to apply, before activation, you need to have at least the last two Windows Update not selected in order to activate properly, you also may run this litlle batch as administrator to fix Activation and also Store problems (do not remember where I found it):

net start wuauserv
net stop bits
net start bits
net start DcomLaunch

 

Just copy it and save as *.cmd, don't forget to run as administrator (and reboot just in case).

 

Now my Win 10 Pro 1703 build 15063 without Apps (only config) is activated through Windows Activation Servers.

 

Let me tell you, it do not look so bad once you remove all (CR)Apps it seams now as a serious OS not as a Smarphone anymore.

 

Of course, almost all telemetry is also blocked now including forced updates.

After reading a few, I know now Phase is Specialize, but don't ask me how to implement the batch in Unatended or Autounatended, I haven't found the way.

Can I suggest you start rmApps.cmd with pushd "%~dp0" so that it is always running within the current folder when it is started? Also bug in this line 

set /p ask=Do you want to delete OneDrive (y/N)? || set _yn=n

should end with set ask=n ??

Thanks for this XML files they are going to be very usefull, but I think there is a missunderstanding in your page, I do not deserve the credit for this script, I am not the author, that's why I put the link to the source in first post and I am quoting some parts of his page and his readme, so I beg you to give credit in your page to the author please.

you either edit install.wim registry, or use RunSynchronousCommand in autounattend.xml / specialize pass

What I do is make an $oem$ folder and put it in sources folder, it has the following content:

$oem$\$1\Users\Default\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\LayoutModification.xml

NOTE: This do not remove Apps that are already in install.wim only prevents them to create icons in start menu or download more Apps.

I have used 'WinLite10' in Windows 10 RedStone 3 Installation. And during logon screen It ask for username and password ? I have not set any username and password, Does it automatically set any username and password ?

Title of this topic very clearly says: WinLite10 v7.2 for Win10 1703 Build 15063

 

So if you use it for the new betas you are on your own as this script set is not made for them.

 

Anyway I never try 10 betas, the RTMs have enought bugs for my taste.

It is a script to mode your Win10 OS removing from it almost all unwanted (CR)Apps and disabling unwanted services including some related to telemetry and keylogger, during install.

Of couse you can open and modify the script to fit your needs (deleting from removal lists some items you want to keept).
