@tte

Thus, grub4dos can see sector 0 to sector 7814037167, that is roughly 3.9TB. And that is a good case - grub4dos (and BIOS) can access sectors beyond 2TB.

By the way, how many sectors in the whole drive (hd2), please?

emm..... Another test, if you don't mind:

Step 1.  On Windows, use a hex editor to view a sector near the end of drive (hd2). Suppose it is sector N.  (Note: You should choose a sector that does not contain all zeroes, i.e., not filled with only zeroes).

Step 2.  Reboot and go into grub4dos, and run

cat   --hex   (hd2)N+1

where N stands for the sector number N selected in Step 1.

Step 3.  Compare the 2 results, and see if they are the same.

I think I gave enough data. Maybe someone else will take part in finding the error or the error will be corrected by the developer. Thanks to all!

Maybe.

But rest assured that you didn't provide enough data, nor did you listen/follow the advice I gave you, as a matter of fact you didn't even attempt to confirm what I posted (post #36) most probably it was not up to your standards.

Thanks for your reports already made. I don't think you offered enough data to fine address the bug/problem. I am not a developer / maintainer. If you give up, I will also give up. If you give up, I will treat all those issues/reports as never had happened/existed. Thank you again for your hard work ever had done on the issue.

In the end I should say, I admit your work is hard, but that is far from sufficient.

In new version grub4dos finally saw my gpt disk and its partitions!

I did not do anything additionally, I just copied the files of the new version of grub4dos to the USB flash drive.

So it was a program error and it was fixed.

And it took only 4 months ...

(I would have expected for a properly analyzed and reported bug more like 15-20 days for a fix)
