Over last year have been trying various reduced versions of Windows XP on Bootable USB Drives and now would like to clone the latest version to a Hard Drive.
What software do you suggest to do this?
Thanks

If you boot another Windows altogether, you can format the HDD filesystem, then drag over NTLDR from the USB to the HDD, then drag over all the other files. No special software required, for that scenario.

Win_Restore.exe has been designed for this purpose http://reboot.pro/to...-on-hdd-or-usb/
It takes the disk signature of the MBR of the Harddisk into account and will clean and modify the registry key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\MountedDevices
When WINDOWS\DriverPacks store with subfolder M (MassStorage) for support of SCSI- en RAID-controllers is found in XP Source,
then option MassStor will add CriticalDeviceDatabase registry and Services to allow booting on all hardware.
This option allows you to restore XP on any other computer with different hardware.

ShaO,

Thanks for the tip. I am not that well experienced concerning this so do not really understand.
Do you have a link that explains this for Newbies?
Also my Flash Drive has FAT not NTLDR.
Thanks again

wimb,
Thanks for the Win_Restore tip.
Before posting I searched the Forum but got No results found for '"clone windows bootable flash drive to hard drive"'.
As mentioned in my previous post I do not have any experience concerning this.
Are there detailed instructions for using Win_Restore?
Thanks again,
Ken
