According to Intels downloadcenter the series 7 chipsets are the last ones for which XP drivers are available.
Has anyone successfully used the Win7 drivers to install XP on a MB with series 8 or even 9 chipset?

I could install XP on my Gigabyte z87 mobo - no display drivers & intel LAN drivers.
Using old Radeon 4350 & wifi dongle to 'solve' those problems.

A Z68 board will give one the best possible intel-based experience. The 7 series chipsets include USB 3.0 but lack USB 3.0 drivers for XP... hence one has to rely on ASMedia or Renesas (VIA USB 3.0 has problems with 6+ series intel chipsets) anyway, so that a Z68 makes more sense. Just my 2¢, from my personal experience (I have i7 3770k on an Asus P8Z68-V LX).

Did some own tests over the weekend with series 7 and 8 based Laptops.
And i will go with dencorso suggestion.
Though i have to say, that i really don't understand the driver problem.
Drivers arn't written today anymore in Assembler. They are done mostly in C or even C++. So it would take the manufacturer about an additional 10 minutes max. to create a driver for another Windows version.
Intel and MS (partners) are pushing hard to kill XP in every possible way, this is not a technical issue it is business related. All this with the wrong assumption XP users will migrate to Win8.xx and in order to do that they will buy a new PC or at least new motherboard and Processor (with no XP drivers).
