Thank you so much Wonko !
Effetively, nowadays it should be vey hard finding active links for this old tool.
Even if a bit OT, I'd just take this opportunity to clarify or to detail the MBR/PBR backup/restore task in general, which can maybe of interest for other guys here in the forum, and for which MBRBatch could bealso indicated (but not limited to).
I well know that we'd need to go back with the MBR's/PBR's knowledge/fundamentals/basics, but my question here is :
Can we have a reliable MBR backup, by only saving the first 64 (first + 63 hidden) MBR's sectors ?
Or, due to some strange DDO software (unknownly writing - or overwrting - the hard-disk) using EMBR techniques (such as BIBM from TeraByte), saving only the first 64 sectors is not enough, and more (100?) than those are necessary ?

Well, the hidden sectors (when using the "old" standard) are 63, i.e. the MBR+62 sectors.
With the "new" (Vista and later) standard the hidden sectors are usually 2048 (MBR+2047), and on small devices 128 (MBR+127), only in very rare cases they are 64 (the 64 (MBR+63) are sometime generated by tools aiming to "align" to a 4096 byte multiple existing partitions/volumes otherwise aligned to the "old" 63 value of CHS), example:
http://support.wdc.c...sid=128&lang=en
There is no such thing as "reliable", it is binary, either the backup is an actual copy byte-by-byte or "dd-like" or "forensic sound" or it is not.
If it is a copy, it is also "reliable".
If it is not it is not good at all (or if you prefer it is not "unreliable", it is simply *something else* from what you want, which remains a "dd-like" copy).
The usual reference when these topics are touched are the Starman's pages:

that provide also an excellent list of tools:
