Another variable must be type object error:

Line 943

Do you have any info on where it was processing when you got the error?

0.1.1.9 is online if you want to test it.

Version 0.1.1.9 is doing OK for me, just like version 0.1.1.8

We need more testers, e.g. Wonko the Sane, cdob, pscEx, steve6375, Nuno Brito, erwan.l, Olof Lagerkvist, joakim ........

It only takes a few minutes time.

Sorry for the late answer. I have been one week at my daughter's family.

My test:

Built a Win7PE CD with the fresh (from reboot pro) downloaded version 0.1.1.8

Booted a historical "MBR" system and started uninfector.

First it downloaded the latest app /date from "home".

The three scans XP-32, XP-64 and Win7-32 run without error messages.

I got a log about really ramaining fragments of some malware deleted.

Second test: On a UEFI Lenovo:

Win10-64: Scan ok. Log about removed pocci. I do not want to judge whether pocci is malware or not. But Lenovo delivers with their OS. And there is a rumor that also Win10 includes it. Maybe such semi-malware in question could be in/excluded in config.ini.

Big question what to do when I want restore pocci? Where is it quarantained?

When it is inside the PE, next boot it is lost.

Sorry, I could not test win7-64 on this system, because my PE does not have the necessary Lenovo network driver (something to do for me ...)

Overall I never saw the mentioned autoit error reported.

Peter

I will look into the pocci removal. It is probably considered a PUP file. Which means it's usually considered junk that no one really uses or is something that sneaks onto your system while installing other software.

A folder on the system drive is created called Uninfector. In it you will find uRestore.exe. you can use it to restore. But it only restores all for now.

Here is what I find about Pokki:

Why Should You Consider Removing Pokki?
Despite the fact that Pokki is a legitimate application, the tool is affiliated with third parties and does not assume liability for any content, services, and website related to them. So, the content provided by the application may be unsafe. This is why experts recommend removing the tool and not interacting with the apps it provides the users with.

Apologies, I meant to respond earlier.

0.1.1.9 worked on the system on which 0.1.1.8 gave me the error.

I forgot to mention to only use uRestore.exe while booted in windows. I haven't coded it properly to restore within WinPE yet.

Awesome application I have been testing it 3 times a week while my co-workers aren't looking. ;-) If you need any info I typically run this on about 10 machines a week, each varied OS/Arch and some from PE others from Windows.

Thanks a lot Chaos Storm!  The more testing the better.

I'm gonna have company visiting this week.  And then I move into a new house the week after.  So I probably won't have time to make any updates for a few weeks.  But please... if you do find any bugs let me know.

I have used version 0.1.2.0 to scan Win10 x86 system ( = Updated from Win7 x86 , on other computer and not being my own system).

There were 5 scans needed giving log files 1-5 to remove all found infections, so that scan 6 did not produce a log file anymore (system clean).

Scan 1 and 4 and 5 and 6 were made in Win10x86 environment, whereas scan 2 and 3 were performed on same system after booting from USB with Win8.1 SE PE.

The attachment gives log files 1-5.

How come that removal of infections takes 5 runs ?

Are these harmful infections  ?

Hmmm... it does look like there must be a bug with the folder removal.  I'll look into fixing this.  It seems like it is only wanting to delete 1 folder on each run for some reason.

Thanks for reporting!!

After using Urestore.exe to restore infections in Win10x86, then I used new version 0.1.2.1 Uninfector.

The problem as described previously is not yet solved. It means there are several runs needed for Folder removal.

Sorry Wimb I haven't had a chance to fix this yet.  I have family visiting right now.  Hopefully I will have time to fix it this week.  I'm sure it's a simple fix.
