Hello there.

I'm sure I can't be the first to ask about this, but I can't find anything using the Search feature.

Here is the error I get on opening WinBuilder:

"You need to be connected on the internet to download files.."

I'm on a corporate LAN but have an open internet connection. I am a local administrator over the machine. The error recurs if I try to download the server list and the Download
button is not active. We do not use a proxy. I have entered our DNS IP under the Proxy tab. I can't find anything helpful in the *.chm file. Please advise me how to get around
this error. Thank-you.

If you use the full package here: http://win7pe.virtec...E_2011_07_22.7z you won't need internet access to run the build.

Hi,

I also got the same error if i have my antivirus with firewall active, try disabling the AV you have or add winbuilder.exe to the exclusion list.

Thanks, fellers, but the above is the only solution that worked for me.

What I'd really like is for this error to be 'programmed out' of the WinBuilder application.

Cheers.

I am confused here...The "download" functions need to use the internet...Are you saying that you get an error just starting WinBuilder? I believe that there are some INI parameters that might come into play here...

For example, in my INI file (WinBuilder.ini) I have an entry for

DisableNetwork=False

Have you tried setting it to "true"??

We are also still working on the docs for things like this...hope to have more docs soon...

Dear Wreckage,

Ref ur error "got to be connected to download files" Nonu Bito suggested a solution and it worked wonders for me. He said to edit ping in the settings. This is how I did it.

1)Double click as admin Winbuilder 082.exe. Go to proxy tab next to Main and tick box Proxy BasicAuthentication and Use Proxy, also click ur mouse in the DNS box (just click the cursur dont tpye anything). Close the winbuilder.

2)Next to winbuilder.exe a winbuilder.ini is generated. Double click ini, will open in notepad. You will see Main and Proxy. In Proxy scroll down to Pingtype=0 and change it to Pingtype=1 Save it and you are done.

3)Open your Winbuilder.exe now and it should show you a default page. Change to Complete and download should work. This setting worked for me.

Goodluck !!!
