Hi there,

I have configured my memu.lst, with a title and a password, before and still works with md5 but most of Linux distributions these days doen't work any more with the command md5cryp to make a md5 hash password, if I'm correct. can I make this work with "grub2-mkpasswd-pbkdf2"? or any better way?

Thanks in advance  :)

You mean to encrypt the password?

And you want to do that under Linux?

There is a thread with several different tools (but for windows) here:

http://reboot.pro/to...ssword-protect/

Among them, there is a PYTHON script (that should work on Linux also):

http://reboot.pro/to...rotect/?p=20583

Link on the post is broken, use this:

https://web.archive....rch/195202.html

And a command that is part of the Win32 port of SSL (and thus should be also on normal Linux SSL):

http://reboot.pro/to...rotect/?p=20563

https://www.openssl....pps/passwd.html
