Background first :

I started using PStart as a start-menu replacement in windows 8. I have a lot of portable programs. Generating the PStart.XML file for all of them was a bit tedious. I decided to write a cmd script. Then I decided to make a more general purpose program.

Basically, fn2txt allows the user to select files using a mask; for each file found, a number of text lines can be generated in a file. The text line can contain the name  (and/or directory, path, extension) of the selected file. The format of the text lines is provided in a ini file.

    Comments & suggestions welcome.

Hi Gbrao,

Thanks for sharing, would you please post this tool on the downloads portal at http://reboot.pro/files

Otherwise the forum topic will soon get hidden from sight with the daily discussions but the items on the downloads portal are relatively easy to find when needed.
