Oh Dear My Friend,

As I have mentioned, there are already some free and open-source software in our site where you could download and enjoy. And in future, if we could afford the time and the resources, more will be rolled out for you.

Best regards

I do appreciate your nice intentions.
I wish you big profits from businesses, so you could afford making your software free for personal/non-profit use.
Regards,
Alexei
PS
BTW, how much it costs anyway?

I actually like the Diskless Angel named picked for the products. Can you post some pics.

Are we not able to do what Diskless Angel does, now with the Winbuilder options to create boot ISO from RAMBOOt or the SDI thingy.

I also dont mind people mentioning Commercial Sites relating to booting Windows from none traditional manners within the proper Part of the Forum, which is the "Websites" Forum. Thats its intention. To be open to all who would like to post about other products. Only thing I do not like is to make that post into an advertisement by that I mean a SPam post, which I dont think the Diskless Angel post is. Just noting at the top of the thread that the product is a Commercial Product/Opensource/freeware, having a description from the official site, a screenshot, and where the site is, should be enough. Since its Commercial the price should be mentioned just incase someone tests the demo and likes to buy a copy. I tried the demo but I didnt get it. So left it alone. For a commercial product you would expect some hadnholding on how to use it. Like a quick guide or something with what does what.

For a commercial program. It lacks ease of use. I didnt know how to to use it from the start. I installed it but from there I just saw a gui when I clicked on the Dekstop Shortcut. And when I went to the help menu no help file was available. It should not be mandatory for the person to have to go to the site to know or learn how to use the program. This was from testing it for the first time and its impression.

@Alexei,

Thank you very much!

You could go to our site for pricing information.

For a free project for a similar product at the moment, may be you know much better than me. Please go to try MobileOS!

I wish people in the board would concentrate the discussion more on technical solutions instead of other issues.

For instance, the main topic of this thread is actually on how to make a universal mini 2k/xp/2k3/vista etc.

By generating a list of files required from booting up to settling down of the system, a lot of tools could be used to generate such an image for use, whether from live system image or from a setup cd/dvd. With such a list of basic core files in hand, any tool could be developed to make customization on such system image. A machine-specific system image can be turned into a universal image with suitable registry settings. Such a basic core of files can be minimized or expanded according to needs. Little Angel actually is not required. WB can do it all instead!

Dear TheHive,

You could go to our site and our forum for seeing the pics and help documentation, which will be improved and simplified.

In this board, I have come across many threads discussing commercial products and WB scripts embedding commercial products without much discussion on the related technicalities. May be these are old brandnames, such as Windows itself, Ghost, Acronis, etc. etc.

But I think people here also like to learn about new additions, whether free or commercial, and about the new developments and new technologies embodied in these new products. Very often, such new developments and new technologies come from unknown names of small enterprises and individuals.

Such enterprises and individuals are already facing very stiff competition in the market for survival. Without money-making, all of them will sooner or later disappear. I remember there has been a very good ramdisk software, called vramdir, for the win9x platform. It is a dynamic ramdisk that expands when you write files into it. But I can't find any of its re-incarnation for the 2k/xp/2k3/vista platform. This is a question that as users we have to ask why?

Is there no free lunch in the world?

In fact, there is; but as long as those who can provide us free lunch can survive.

Alexei's conclusion in the above post better reflects the economics of how the world is operating.

For example, we can expect IBM & SUN to release free versions of offices to match that of Microsoft. Could we expect too much from other countless peanut individual developers and enterprises? Do we have to encourage them instead of pressurizing these peanuts into non-existence? If so, we are patronizing monolopy of the market by only the few big names that you adore or dislike! The scene will not be healthy for those peanut developers who would instead have to work for Microsoft, IBM and the like. In theory, this kind of monopolization will lead to polarization and ultimately ......

Your team apps are excellent and I'm a big fan of all your work - maybe one day if a non-time trial demo version appears we can use them more often.

Agree with idea.

@windrv

Yes, you have found what you need and do it yourself please. So don't bother to pressurize us on releasing it free anymore.

A small trip to the past: a few monthes ago when I learnt about your app I found the address in GZ and visited your office (?) there in order to buy a few copies for using with Windows 2000 Pro. Your English is pretty good to understand the difference between ask for free and buy for money. I wanted to buy. Unfortunately (or luckly?) office in GZ rejected to accept payment at site and asked me to wait until you resolve the payment through website. I went to BUY your product. And even in this topic I asked you a strait question about a volume purchase without hardware restrictions. Insted of selling your product you go further with discussing licences and ethics of selling and giving for free.

Sorry pal, I don't understand your logic. I'm not in computing and not going to teach you, but I'm in business too and I completely agree that every work should be paid for unless somebody just willing to give something for free. IMHO with this attitude you won't find support from potential users that can afford and willing to buy your product. WE ARE THE GEEKS AND WE ARE YOUR POTENTIAL CLIENTS. Don't start your discussion about programmers who need to eat too - I've already learnt from your postings here and there that you are very sensitive person and this is your preferred topic. I agree with this and never asked you for giving your work for free. I've asked for getting rid of some restrictions. That was my suggestion.

Right now your app with ramdisk 1Gb can be completely replaced by other alternatives and, IMHO, have one more very big restriction - by design it can be used only on a computer were it was registered (some random code from hardware in basic image checked by driver during startup?).

Sorry! Dear Oleg_II,

At the time you visited our shop, our product was only offered through our websales system. And you declined to buy it through the websales system so our staff there were unable to generate the registered version for you on the spot.

We later revised the procedure subsequent to your visit, and we are now able to take onsite purchase order in guangzhou, China. We are also beginning to recruit distributors, so hopefully it could be more widely available to potential buyers.

As to the machine-specific hardware restriction, by design only our virtual memory driver is tied to the machine code related to the CPU of the machine. It is so designed to protect our virtual memory driver so that a copy of it with purchased license can only be deployed on one machine to which it is registered. Except for this virtual memory driver, all other tools are fully functional without such restriction.

We are designing a new model in which you can put many machine-specific drivers with purchased licenses into a system image or on a LAN webserver so that such a system image can be used in all machines with purchased licenses. This will relax the hardware dependence of the system image being deployed to the extent that covers all licensed machines.

We are glad that you can find other alternatives as your solution because we all know that there is no one panacea that meets all the needs of everybody.

We do not turn away potential clients. But we also know that we cannot service all the needs and demands of every client at any moment, so if potential clients find our products suit their needs and think that our product is value-for-money for them to buy, they are most welcome. We are also happy to serve them by introducing them to use other alternatives upon receiving their enquiries. And all are welcome to discuss their suggestions and questions at our forum site at http://windrv.net

Very polite this time, thanks

A small correction: I'd really prefer buying it in cash at that moment and web payment system was not working that time
