I actually like the Diskless Angel named picked for the products. Can you post some pics.
Are we not able to do what Diskless Angel does, now with the Winbuilder options to create boot ISO from RAMBOOt or the SDI thingy.
I also dont mind people mentioning Commercial Sites relating to booting Windows from none traditional manners within the proper Part of the Forum, which is the "Websites" Forum. Thats its intention. To be open to all who would like to post about other products. Only thing I do not like is to make that post into an advertisement by that I mean a SPam post, which I dont think the Diskless Angel post is. Just noting at the top of the thread that the product is a Commercial Product/Opensource/freeware, having a description from the official site, a screenshot, and where the site is, should be enough. Since its Commercial the price should be mentioned just incase someone tests the demo and likes to buy a copy. I tried the demo but I didnt get it. So left it alone. For a commercial product you would expect some hadnholding on how to use it. Like a quick guide or something with what does what.
For a commercial program. It lacks ease of use. I didnt know how to to use it from the start. I installed it but from there I just saw a gui when I clicked on the Dekstop Shortcut. And when I went to the help menu no help file was available. It should not be mandatory for the person to have to go to the site to know or learn how to use the program. This was from testing it for the first time and its impression.
Dear TheHive,
You could go to our site and our forum for seeing the pics and help documentation, which will be improved and simplified.
In this board, I have come across many threads discussing commercial products and WB scripts embedding commercial products without much discussion on the related technicalities. May be these are old brandnames, such as Windows itself, Ghost, Acronis, etc. etc.
But I think people here also like to learn about new additions, whether free or commercial, and about the new developments and new technologies embodied in these new products. Very often, such new developments and new technologies come from unknown names of small enterprises and individuals.
Such enterprises and individuals are already facing very stiff competition in the market for survival. Without money-making, all of them will sooner or later disappear. I remember there has been a very good ramdisk software, called vramdir, for the win9x platform. It is a dynamic ramdisk that expands when you write files into it. But I can't find any of its re-incarnation for the 2k/xp/2k3/vista platform. This is a question that as users we have to ask why?
Is there no free lunch in the world?
In fact, there is; but as long as those who can provide us free lunch can survive.
Alexei's conclusion in the above post better reflects the economics of how the world is operating.
For example, we can expect IBM & SUN to release free versions of offices to match that of Microsoft. Could we expect too much from other countless peanut individual developers and enterprises? Do we have to encourage them instead of pressurizing these peanuts into non-existence? If so, we are patronizing monolopy of the market by only the few big names that you adore or dislike! The scene will not be healthy for those peanut developers who would instead have to work for Microsoft, IBM and the like. In theory, this kind of monopolization will lead to polarization and ultimately ......
