Hi there

I am new here. I am totally blind person, and I need win8PE, which will boot to UEFI mode.
I can succesfuly install any Legacy based system whith win7PE, even win8.1. However, when UEFI comes, I cannot boot WIN7PE64bit to UEFI.

I read on Microsoft technet site, if I wish to avoid computer to boot to legacy mode, I just need to delete Bootmgr from USB drive. I tried that with win7PE, but it wont boot. I then tried to boot regular win8 installation with out bootmgr, and it goes, normaly

My problem is that I need NVDA screen reader, which will boot exclusively to UEFI.

Is this possible to make?
I guess that I can use any PE, just to someone build and install NVDA into.

If someone like to help me, I will apritiate it...

How did you build your WIN7PE64bit ? Does it has wow64 support for 32 bit applications ?

You can try, from your Windows 7 x64 source:
- Copy bootmgr.efi to the root of your Win7PEx64, I hope USB in order to write.
- Copy the efi folder at root
- Move the boot folder from efi\microsoft\boot one level up, to efi folder. You should have the folder efi\boot
- Extract with 7zip bootmgfw.efi from win7 boot.wim inside 2\Windows\Boot\EFI folder
- Then copy this bootmgfw.efi to efi\boot folder and rename it bootx64.efi

You can search with google : "windows 7" UEFI Copy the efi\microsoft\boot directory up one level

Hi Boulcat,

Just to simplify,
I triend to build your win 8 SE, to PE, however, it went booted without sound. I have realtec chip, and its really strange.  I need just win8PE, with NVDA, which will boot UEFI only.

I also got errors while building your PE. It will be fine if you can build some simple PE, just with desktop and my computer, sound and NVDA, because I think that win8 PE must be UEFI compliant.

Have you tried first, the trick above. Win7PE 64 bit should works for UEFI.
My uncle is happy with Win8.1SE (edit: 32 bit not UEFI), he uses only outside home, occasionally.
And for Jaws, it needs at least a license on the home computer.
It works for him, I shared it for the benefit of others but I do not want to go further.

Try probably, with Win7PESE http://www.msfn.org/...49758-win7pe-se
With a windows 7 64 bit as source and add your NVDA script.
It should be UEFI compatible.

No way, I am really tired of building, errors...

To summirize:

Can anyone, please, give me complete, built, Win 8.1 with UEFI and audio support, then I will find a way with portable NVDA screen reader.

Thanks a lot, a million...

You do understand that you are asking someone to redistribute non redistributable files, do you?

Are you wanting to make a bootable (in UEFI mode) DVD or a USB stick?

There is a specific project/tool for making an USB stick bootable in both BIOS and UEFI mode making use of Win8.1 SE:

http://reboot.pro/to...boot-usb-drive/

Though I have no specific experiemce with the above, usually wimb's tools are simple and effective.

If you want to make a UEFI bootable DVD (or a dual boot BIOS+UEFI one), it is likely that you are missing the "special" OSCDIMG options, see:

http://www.msfn.org/...m-bootable-usb/
