So, I just received my isostick and was super excited to get started with it, but I think it might have a manufacturing defect. The microSD card doesn't seem to lock into the slot. I can push it in fully to the point where it's completely inside the enclosure, but it always pops back out about a 1/16th of an inch or so. I think the locking mechanism of the microSD socket is broken. I'm hoping I'm just being an idiot or something and either this is the expected behavior or else there's some simple fix, but I've got a sneaking suspicion it's DOA and I'm going to need to ship it back for replacement. Anyone have any suggestions/feedback they can provide?

So, after fidling with it for a little while longer I managed to get the card to lock, although I'm not sure if it was because the locking mechanism was stuck and my fiddling managed to work it loose, or because it's a really tight fit and I just happened to have managed to get it to lock in. I'm somewhat hesitant to try removing the card now that I have it in there, but once I've updated the firmware I'll try it to see if the problem occurs again.

Try using the rear end of another microSD card, or some folded paper or similar to push it all the way in. It should push to a few millimeters inside the enclosure, then when you let go it should rest almost flush with the outside. Another push should eject it.

It seems a few of the sockets were "sticky," so you might need to push it in and eject it a few times to get the mechanism going again. All the sockets were tested prior to shipment, but there's always a chance something got damaged after testing, or missed altogether.

If it still won't work after a few tries, shoot me an email at support [at] isostick [dot] com and we can discuss a replacement.

EDIT: Just saw your reply, it was probably just the stickiness mentioned above. If the problem persists though, don't hesitate to contact support

Thanks for the feedback. I just tested it again now that I've updated the firmware. It looks like maybe the socket is back a little further than normal or something because I can get it to lock but I need to push it really far inside the enclosure to do so. Maybe it's the stickiness you mentioned and if I keep using it, it will improve a bit. For the time being I'm just using the paperclip I used to perform the reset to fully seat it inside the socket. BTW, it looks like when in the locked position it rests a few millimeters inside the enclosure rather than nearly flush with it, so I'm thinking it might just be offset slightly from where it's supposed to rest (might have been rough treatment by the postal service caused the board to shift inside the enclosure but that's pure speculation).
