I came across one other minor issue unfortunately. As far as I can tell while running the generated .iso image in VirtualBox it appears to work completely normal and without problems. However, while running it on actual hardware, such as my laptop I encounter troubles. What's going on is that after I specify the location to save the .tib image file to, the True Image Home 2012 simply freezes and becomes unresponsive, while the rest of the LiveXP cd/dvd is entirely usable and stable.

And before you ask if it's the cd/dvd media or the drive that's giving me issues, it could be but at the same time I doubt it; since I had tried making a custom BartPE cd/dvd on the same rewritable disc rather than using LiveXP and at the same screen the program loads just fine and does not crash or freeze.

Unfortunately with all of this there is no errors in the LiveXP cd/dvd, just a simple freezing of the program, I've even tried using the older build of TI2012 + Plus Pack (Build 5545, as opposed to 6154) and when I try to load that up on LiveXP it gets past the Splash Screen and then closes on its own.

2aCD Upon further investigation it's looking like TI2012 Build 6154 is the culprit, I updated the BartPE image to use that version and it too locked up when I tried to use, where as when I had previously used Build 5545 and worked flawlessly.

Is there any way you could update the script to work with the previous build 5545? I can supply you the links for the files if needed.

Hi palyons,

I have a guess why this might be it.
I think the registry entrys for snapman driver are different in this version.
Yes if you give me a link to files, but you not allowed to share it for all. Send me a personal message, then I will see, what the problem is it.

Hi palyons,
I have a long time search to reproduce your problem. :suda:
Now I think I have found the reason why the problems occurred with the last build 6154.
The program freeze after 'open file dialog' if networksupport is loaded without installed network card. If no networksupport is loaded or network support with installed network card then TrueImage works fine, no freeze no crash. So its recomended to disable the follow option in PE-Network

I hope this help
best regards

As I'm currently tinkering with several Imaging app scripts to find out which one suits best:

Just to mention, compared to the Acronis Backup & Recovery 11 script by dera, I stumbled upon an issue which caused me lots of errors:
In dera's script one has to copy data from the corresponding Acronis installation to feed the script with, basically a user licence and the file WinPE.zip. There you just copy that zip archive as is, i.e. not extracting it; dera's script will proceed just fine.

Testing the True Image Home 2012 script afterwards, I was confused receiving so many errors until I realised that I'm obliged to extract the archive myself.

Although it's (obviously) a user mistake, I'd suggest that you adjust the script in a future version with regard to the one of dera.
Apart from that, I'd say: Very good work, thank you!
:thumbsup:

Hi Friends,

I have update the script to support version 2012 and 2013 from Acronis True Image Home.

Depending on which version you possess, you can use this script.

Have fun

This script works great in with my Win7pese project.  My only question is how can I get this to load into RAM so I can remove the flash drive once Win7pese loads?  I selected Run from Ram in the drop down box and rebuilt the project but it doesn't seem to have any effect.  What am I missing?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, Johnb175

if you select 'Run from Ram' the corresponding files are placed in 'Program Files' instead 'Programs' on the Target-Folder.

The 'Program Files' are stored in the WIM-File that is mounted as drive X:. This drive is running completly in Ram.

Otherwise the program run from 'Programs' that is stored on drive Y: (CD or USB).

I tested again, if the Dropdown box works and and she does it.

I hope I could help you.

I tried selecting "Run from Ram" from the drop down box that is provided with the script and rebuild my whole project but it doesn't seem to work.  It sill loads Y:\Programs\Acronis\TrueImage\TrueImage_starter.exe rather than x:\programs files\Acronis....  I'm not sure if I am doing anything wrong or if the script is just not copying the files.

No, I mean the build from Win7pese (the latest is from 2013-05-24).

I think, you are allowed to attache files after 20 or 30 posts. I dont know this exact.

Can you upload the file to a share and place a link?

I downloaded it so long ago.  When I open the configuration file it says:

Description=Win7PE_SE project that supports Win7 DVD SP0 and SP1, x86 and x64
Author=NightMan, YahooUK, Lancelot, ChrisR
Version=17
Date=2011.07.05

ups, it's to old

that's what I suspected. The latest is version 49.

The api is changed and new macros are implemented.

I use this in the Acronis scripts.

It is recommended to download the complete package from the win7pese webpage.

I think that helps

Testing the new version... I don't see where to specify the log path.  In my old version it was under "Finalize, Save Log File".  Whenever I build with the new version the Log folder is empty.

In Winbuilder under 'Tools' you can set the log-Options.

After build you can also press the log-button and save as html.

In your Skydrive-public I need rights to download files.

Well, after upgrading to the latest version and building the project again Acronis is loading into RAM.  On another note, I notice this new version is not pulling up the menu from the menu.lst when it first boots.  Is there something additional I need to do to get this function back?  I checked the menu.lst and it says the timeout is set to 5 seconds.  I changed it to 10s but it seems to ignore it.

Ok, Run from Ram with Acronis now works. :D.

Where you checked the menu.lst?  On drive Y:?

The menu.lst for other OS is generated temporarily in \Workbench\Win7PESE\Cache\OtherOSMenu

And the script 'Copy to USB-Device' or 'Create ISO' completed the menu.lst and copyed it into root from CD or USB.

Grub must of course be selected.

Yea, that's what it was.  Bootice was selected.  I changed Write MBR Tools from Bootice to GrubInstall and it works.

Another question.  I would like to run an old version of Acronis along with this new Acronis 2013.  When I select both scripts in the build both shortcuts launch the old version.  Is there any way to have them both run on one build and if not is there a way to have an option to tell win7pe to load one boot.wim containing the old Acronis into RAM when needed?  I'm sure there is a way to do it I just have not been able to figure it out.  Thanks again.

Hm,

I think you have two ways.

The first: two Versions in one build, I have no test that, but I think it works

The second: use two builds and the multiwin script.

for the first:

- copy the script to a different filename

- change the copy for old Acronis:

[Main]
Title=Acronis TrueImage Home 2012

[Variables]
%ProgramFolder%=Acronis\TrueImage2012
%ProgramTitle%=Acronis TrueImage 2012

- in the Gui you select a different BartPE Folder and a different Shortcutname

The Acronis 2012 also works with a new snapman driver from 2013. I do not overwrite a new snapman driver with an old version in the script.

So I think you can use both versions in one build.

for the second:

- also copy the script to a different filename and enable only this copy

- change the copy for old Acronis:

[Main]
Title=Acronis TrueImage Home 2012

- in the Gui you select only a different BartPE Folder

- select 'Run from RAM'

- start build and copy the result wim to %GlobalTemplates%\MultiWim\boot2.wim for multiwim script

- now disable the script for old Acronis and enable the script for new Acronis

- enable in Other OS MultiWim and select your copyed wim file from the previous build (set the bootmenu description)

- run a new build with the selected new Acronis and selected multiwim

- now you can start with different wims

Have fun :rolleyes:

Oh, forgott the first way.

You can't use different serial numbers in one system. The registry keys are the same.

Only the second way works

Ok, I put the multiwim.script in the other OS folder.  I have a boot2.wim and a boot3.wim in %basedir%\MultiWim.  Whenever I try and build the project I am getting the following error when it hits the MultiWim script"

 [Failed] (MultiWim.script) FileCopy - Failed to copy [%BaseDir%\MultiWim\boot2.wim] to: [%OtherOS_Target%]: The directory name is invalid.
