,Please ignore my ignorance in this querie & in some ways I am looking for some reassurance in respect of unattended XP Home installations, I'm here to learn?
My question is in respect Slipstreaming drivers if that is the right term to use?
The background program that I am using is nlite but scouting around conducting some self motivated research I have stumbled across a problem! This problem is in respect of driver signing or specifically WHQL (Windows Hardware Quality Labs) checks. As far as I can gather M$ prefers signed drivers before they will allow intergration of drivers which I read is causing some problems to some users on the net.
Some users are confronted with error messages when trying to install un-signed drivers in unattended situations. So I have been looking for a work around either through as registry tweak something like:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Driver Signing] "Policy"=hex:00Also I here tell that that an entry within the winnt.sif similair to below that will have the desired effect also?
to the [Unattended] section of my winnt.sif
DriverSigningPolicy = Ignore
NonDriverSigningPolicy = Ignore
In my understanding, in nLite, once we have chosen to use the Unattended section, DriverSigningPolicy=Ignore and NonDriverSigningPolicy=Ignore will be automatically added to WINNT.SIF's [Unattended] section but some users report failures with this switch.

My concerns with using a registry entry is that which comes 1st, the driver signing during an unattended install or will the registry tweaks figure or be recognised prior to the the driver signing checks, cuz if driver signing comes first the reg tweaks will be redundant during an unattended install of XP in respect of un-signed drivers?
Can anyone help with my confusion in this matter or know of a better way?
