i've got winimize up and running. but it seems that it cut out too much, and i can't figure out what to put back. i kind of like having display properties, or at least an easy way to change my video mode. and when i try to install my wireless software, it gets errors. i think i need some of the files from the "dial up networking" option.

what would i need to do to get wireless and a web browser up and running in this thing?

Don't know how to add wireless, but a good option to browse the web might be Off By One - it's free and weights 1.2Mb.. :P

I dont know about how to get wireless going. But in order to get your Internet connection you will need to install your Network Card Drivers. I installed mine and I was able to use Opera as the browser.

Hey jclaz ---

This forum is great! Should have thought of having bootland sponsor a winimize forum long ago. Thanks Nuno!

Unfortunately, I am in the process of moving, and am without internet access. Once settled, I will try to wrap up some loose ends for winimizing 9x, and begin with discussing solutions to networking issues, including wireless connectivity.

Less immediately, I will try to make the INFs used by setup comprehensible to more advanced users, so that the advanced user can modify these files, and in the process shed light on the whole installation process.

As for the utility of Mindows, I have often used a Mindows based live CD to repair and tweak all flavors of Windows, and it is most pleasing to "slip one past the goalie" and make changes otherwise not allowed by the Windows OSs in "protecting" the user from him/herself.

So will you stick around to help in making a Live98 version of Scripts for Winbuilder. That would be great.

MS found you so you have to move to your Bat cave. lol!

Yeah, I'll stick around for the live CD thing. But I'm more of a hacker/kludger than scripter. Mainly in this endeavor for getting the most from the least, and getting a glimpse of what is behind the Microsoft veil.
